Hi scoobydoobydooo, welcome to hotukdeals. More than likely these codes are account specific, and you can only use them if they have been sent to you. But it's worth a try if some people on here are buying off eBay anyway.... but chances are it won't be very successful *sob*

Thanks for posting :D

If you dont mind me asking, do you use your paypal account a lot or not.

The reason I ask is that do use it quite a bit to recieve and send payment and have never had a promo code sent to me in over 5 years :-(

Just trying to see if there is a method to the madness so to speak...

Hmmm, gets wierder; I set up an ebay account for a technophobe friend almost a year ago which I have ended up using for myself (now my ebay buying account) in conjunction with my mature PayPal account (used regularly for both buying and selling).

He (well I) recently got his 50th +ve feedback and just happened to pay him a visit and noticed an eBay envelope. Thought it might be a congrats 50 positive feeds mouse mat that a another friend recently received but it was the code above. Great I thought just what I needed, tried to redeem the code but it didnt allow me. Read the instructions on the back and it mentioned that:

"Note: The email address you registered for your eBay and PayPal accounts must be the same in order to redeem your coupon successfully."

So I added the email address asscociated to the eBay account into PayPal, tried the code again and it worked!

Moral of the story...not quite sure!, but looks like the codes are more eBay account specific rather than PayPal account specific.

Also, theres codes for CUDDLYTOY1/2/3 to CUDDLYTOY4 giving £10 off from purchases of £50/£60/£70 and £80 respectively.

Coupon specific terms and conditions:

CUDDLYTOY1
CUDDLYTOY2
CUDDLYTOY3
CUDDLYTOY4

Hmm.. very suprised, but the code worked for me even though I didn't get it via email!!

Is your e-mail for eBay and PayPal the same boonkoh?
#12
yup!

I think that may be the trick, although in the past it hasn't worked before even though the email addresses are the same.
#13
I guess that is it with some of them then yeah :)

Interesting. Thanks guys.

I think I may set up a new ebay and pay pal account in my wifes name and leave it for a month or two to see if we get a code sent to 'tempt' us back.

i urge you not to the same email address for paypal and ebay.
Just to add another layer of protection, keep them different. This has saved me a few times from spoof/fake paypal notifications.

Hi All,

I had the CUDDLYTOY1 sent to me and my better half had the CUDDLYTOY3 sent to her.

I used mine to redeem my lovely free £10 and the Guy who I bought something from being a Paypal amateur accidently refunded my payment. This has now cost me my voucher and it is unusable. I have waited years to receive a voucher and it has all been a waste of time. I contacted ebay and they said I should sort it out mutally with the Guy I purchased from. It was his fault but he will not reduce my product by £10 as he is unaware that I even used a voucher and he is not going to lose out.

I looked up Coupon issues on ebay and basically it says "tough ****"
