got it back in December when they were doing the £25 gift voucher promotion. Worth it, spending on it gets vouchers to
#2
You get £15 off just for applying then a £15 voucher the first time you use it
#4
Incedentally - I just used my £15 voucher to pre-order Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. It takes £15 before VAT is added to the total - making the total just £12.35
#5
surely if it takes £15 off before VAT is added then it takes more than £15 off ? i.e. £15 + £2.65 ??

Or are you saying it takes £12.35 off the before VAT figure, i.e. it is taking £14.51 off the including VAT price .... ??

You don't get £15 for just applying. You get £15 after first purchase.

That's not right.
I got £15 for an approved application (see bitmap in my previous post) that appeared during the checkout.
I've only applied for the card today so I'm using a different card for this purchase.

so you get a better return for your voucher

Yes!

I've just had a look at this, and the way the T&Cs of this offer read, it seems to me that you either get the £15 off instantly, but have to make a purchase on your new Amazon card within 90 days to retain it, or you get the other offer, which is a £15 promotional gift certificate, which you get after you've made your first purchase on your new credit card. It doesn't seem to me that you get both.
#11
You could be right - I'll let you know what happens when I get the card. Meantime the email from Amazon reads:

Dear Amazon.co.uk MasterCard Customer

Congratulations! Your application for the Amazon.co.uk MasterCard has been
approved by Halifax plc and a £15 credit has been applied to your
Amazon.co.uk account for you to spend on your next purchase.

Please remember to complete, sign and return the paperwork that will be
sent to you within the next few days from Halifax plc. On receipt of the
paperwork by Halifax plc, you will be sent the Amazon.co.uk MasterCard
within 10 business days. You will then be able to start taking advantage
of the great rates and great loyalty programme detailed at
www.amazon.co.uk/mastercard.

In accordance with the terms & conditions of the £15 Credit Promotion, if
you do not return the paperwork, activate and make a retail purchase on
your Amazon.co.uk MasterCard within 90 days of receipt of this e-mail, the
£15 credit will be debited from the default payment card associated with
your Amazon.co.uk account or, if unused, removed from your Amazon.co.uk
account. Visit
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/cobrandcard/terms-and-conditions.html for the
full terms & conditions.

any updates gremlin?
#13
I've had my form back from Amazon which I've signed and am sending back today - so no updates - probably later this week I'll find something out.
#14
I don't suppose anyone knows whether this £15 credit could be used angainst a couple of boxsets that are in the buy 2 get £5 off offer? In the T&Cs it implies that it can't eb used with other promotions, so I'm presuming not, but just wondered if anyone knows for sure?
#15
:-( I just signed up for this, through the amazon link, my first ever credit card, and I havnt recieved £15 off! I didnt get a approval now though they said they will get back to me within 10 days.

!!!!! Dont know what to do now !!!!!!
#16
still around..

I was gonna post this last week as it seemed like a good way to get a wii a little cheaper but I just assumed that everybody already knew about it.

Order Trust laptop backpack @ £17.64 and got charged £0.01

Sweet, so the £15 voucher is worth £17.63 and stated previously.

Also got the 10 days we let you know email on Monday and approved Tuesday.

They apply the £15 discount before VAT which is equivalent to £15 + VAT savings on the order value.
#20
Just done this and to clarify a few points, firstly you definately only get one crack at a voucher/discount,which is that as soon as your application is accepted a credit is applied to your amazon online account, not the credit card. This credit is there to use instantly and will remain there until used as long as you go on to make any purchase on your new amazon card within 90 days. You do not have to use your amazon card to make the amazon purchase and receive the discount. You can use your existing registered card and recieve the discount which incidently does come off as £17.63 as previously mentioned, however if you then do not use your amazon card for a purchase within 90 days amazon will then charge your registered card (or whichever card you used to get the discount) to reclaim the discount.
Bryan839,you say you didn't get your discount, then check you amazon online account and not your new amazon credit card account.
#21
Not had any emails to say I've been awarded the discount. Nothing on my Amazon account either. I already used the card at Amazon - which I thought was what you needed to do to qualify. Still nuffink!!!

On receiving/using your £15, is there a limit of how much you have to spend on your Amazon credit card, for the £15 to work?

Mine was there instantly!
When i signed up,i was making a purchase and a box popped up saying,''Take out an amazon credit card today and save £15 on this purchase''.So that is what i did and when i went back to my shopping basket after signing up,the credit was there off my purchase.
Give them a ring on that call back thing. You give them your phone number and they call you almost straight away.
Edit:Looking at the info from the link on the OP,it does say:

1.http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/G/02/marketing/visa/2007/uk-spacer.gifClick the button and complete a short form

http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/G/02/marketing/visa/2007/uk-spacer.gif2.Send back your paperwork

3.http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/G/02/marketing/visa/2007/uk-spacer.gifMake a purchase on your Amazon.co.uk MasterCard to receive your £15 Amazon.co.uk Gift Certificate

So if you signed up from this link as opposed to how i did, then you may have to wait for your card to arrive, make any purchase with it and then your creit will be applied to your amazon account.

Just been told by Amazon to contact Halifax, so I phoned them & they have no record of me applying for a credit card:? :x

I'm gonna wait a few days & just cancel it. A bit of a waste of time, but thanks for your help bazr:thumbsup:

I applied for one last Thursday and have heard absolutely nothing either, it's a bit worrying when you add personal details through a secure https:// url and they've got no recollection of the information being forwarded..... my personal opinion of our financial institutions is rapidly declining :x

Dead right! Its complete pants. Read these reviews of the card, oh dear:whistling: ...

If I receive any forms, I'll just not send them back. I've spent nothing & I'll never use it, so in theory they should just cancel it?:)

It'll naturally expire if you don't return the credit agreement so it's cost nothing....... still very poor for a joint-venture from two very large household names.

From what I read, the discount should happen straight away, but some people are getting nothing?:whistling:

I had my £15 pound voucher and used it already, but I think you have to spend an amount using the card or they revoke the voucher and if you have used it they will take the money from your registered payment details.
#35
Still nothing. Emailed them days ago & not a sausage... I should have know better than to trust anything even remotely connected with Halifax Piddling SoShititty!

This is what it says in the email when you get confirmation that you have been successful in your application for a card

"When you make your first retail purchase on the Amazon.co.uk MasterCard, you will be sent an Amazon.co.uk Gift Certificate within two weeks of your first statement to the e-mail address you referenced when you submitted your application form."

I've not had a statement yet, so I am still awaiting my £15 voucher.

There must be different ways and means of taking up this offer as i previously posted that i was simply making an amazon purchase and a box popped up saying:
''Take out an amazon credit card today and save £15 on this purchase''.
So i filled in the details,i was accepted and when i went back to my shopping basket after signing up,the credit was already taken off my purchase.
