i ordered this a few weeks ago - meats came in icebox (can be semi recycled) and dry ice - i specified frozen. orderd mon noon, came wed first thing. packaging seems pretty good, had a chopping board thrown in as a gift as well.

we had about 8 pieces of steaks, different types (fillet, sirloin etc) which we tried about twice a week ... then midway went back to a local butcher to compare (a bit of a way to get to) but realised our local butchers (irish) was actually quite good, very tender.

to be honest i didnt think DR meat was particularly fantastic. i had thought originally that aberdeen steak was pretty reputable. not impressed with the size/portions but hey, what do we know, we love our steaks and we live in London ...

some of this online meat stuff is stupidly expensive

£42 for 850g of langoustines????

http://www.donaldrussell.com/product.cfm?productid=505&pageid=8

having a laugh

£36 for 1.4kg of farmed salmon?

http://www.donaldrussell.com/product.cfm?productid=249&pageid=8

£44 for 1.26kg of ribeye steak?

http://www.donaldrussell.com/product.cfm?productid=429&pageid=2

I buy Mey Selections ribeye steak from Sainsburys, and it costs approx £13.99/kg

And for instance this pork here

http://www.donaldrussell.com/product.cfm?productid=50&pageid=23

doesn't have the same provenance as this joint here, which weighs 50% more and costs the same price:

Stuff like this is just garbage

http://www.donaldrussell.com/product.cfm?productid=491&pageid=23

These products contain lactose and soya.

WHY???? £24, and it contains soya?

Utter muck.

No possible reason to buy it when you can get decent produce for a third of the price
