That's a chunky discount - should help their cashflow.

Pre-orders also excluded by the looks of it.

Thanks just bought family guy 10 for £13.59.

Essentially anything I would have been interested in. A little silly really as usually they are more expensive than the competition anyway.

Thanks for posting that link.... it saved me wasting my time.

It does seem they are excluding a lot of items, but no doubt the 20% off will be of use to someone.
#10
Brilliant code, thanks for this! Just grabbed myself a nice bunch of Blu-rays :)
#11
... really cant think of what to get... I got a tenner in e-wallet to use up before they go bankrupt...

Any ideas?

Is Alan Wake on xbox 360 worth it? £12 after the discount.
#12
And don't forget your TCB/QQ!
#13
Thanks, used it for one of the not excluded electrical items
#14
Doesnt work on pre-orders for some reason - ridiculous - thats another sale they've lost.

My sympathy/loyalty for HMV is rapidly evaporating
#15
End of the world sale!

End of the world sale!

last saturday we will see!!! hehe

hot !

With their current debt they need money fast and I guess this is one quick way but surely the items being sold are not making them much profit. Just seems woolworths is getting nearer and nearer for HMV.
#19
They've just flogged off Waterstones for £53M - might keep them afloat a little longer
#20
id be sad if hmv went under - where would i get my hmv exclusive steelbooks from?

as for the 20% its a nice code, but if it cant be used on preorders (unlike sainsburys one) then i probably wont use it.

Awaits a bazillion HMV deals to get posted.
#22
HMV must be desperate.

IIRC, did they not have until the end of May to meet the terms of their loan agreements or the banks would be pulling the plug?

Anyway, there are some real bargains to be had for sure. :)
#23
HMV made £30 million profit last year, as long as it is still making money they will not go down the tube.

just ordered some stuff and forgot to go through quidco. doh

It's a swizz, they've put their prices up.

I was going to buy Ruse for the PS3 last week which was listed as £9.99 and is now £10.99. I could be wrong, but it seems quite obvious what they're doing to me.

Thus I haven't voted hot or cold.

It's true, had Blade Runner in my basket at £8.51 but by the time I got to checking out it was £9.99 so didn't order. But The Prestige was £6.99 recently and got a decent bit of heat, expired when it went back to £9.99, yet today was back at £6.99, so deals can still be had, but a bit of digging is required.

Not another 20% off promo!! Where do I protest at all the related offers posts relating to this. (joking!!)

I think there will be a few bargains. Already found one which works out cheaper by 20% or so.
#32
Wow! I just bought the Avengers 50th Anniversary Box Set.......£143.99.......less my 20% off ..........£115.19............nearly thirty quid shaved off!!! Ace!

Many thanks for this post, is it or is HUKD "spammed" with HMV posts...

Mods - is there nothing in future you can ever do about this, i.e. to prevent sooooo many HMV posts we know its 20%off - just look some people seem to post sooo many about the same thing.. yes its 20% off!

Thats why companies do it. It gets people buying stuff because they think they are getting a great deal.

It could also be to do with HMV getting rid of stock. Something about them changing the way they buy stock in store from music/video labels. Pay as you sell. Rather buy then sell in store.

I hope HMV survive on the high street. Shame to let the likes of Tesco dictate where we should buy DVDs.

Oh Golden Compass on blu ray is effectively £4.80. :D

Other hot picks.
Mash season 1-11 Effectively £40 with discount!!!! You won't get £20-30 close to that elsewhere.
Beverley Hills cop 1/2/3 is £3.20 with discount.
Lots of £2.99 products too. Cocktail among others. ;)

I think its something to do with the refinancing they're currently doing. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-13466179

They may need to convert assets to cash quicker in order to obtain the finance and without it they'd be forced to repay the £170m which I guess would put them under.

2100 xbox live points for £13.99? Don't mind if I do, thank you.

They did just sell Waterstones for £53 million. They could also use this as a way to enter administration to reduce debt. Usual tactic of selling off part of business doing well and dumping all the debt on the rest of business.

Prices are always expensive than Game or any online place.
