WARNING:

I used this code on monday and have just checked my online banking to see that the full amount has been taken out (so no discount given). It said my order should be £50 but I've clearly been charged £75. I am a new customer.

I've e-mailed them to ask why, if they don't honour it I'll just send the stuff back for a refund.

Thanks - sounds like it should be good to use then. They'd have a hard time figuring out who had received the voucher from a handout from those who had found it online :whistling:

That's the conclusion I've arrived at as well. I planned to use this voucher to buy Wii Fit for around £48, but I think I'll stick with my order at ChoicesUK for a tenner more.

well i gave them a call today and she said when i have decided to keep the goods i can ring and they will knock the £25 off. so i assume they are covering themselves so you dont order £60 and send £40 odd of it back
#16
any £25 off codes for existing customers ?

Exactly - my colleague and I have just realised the samething.
They've billed us both for the full amount. I've sent them an email demanding either the £25 refund or the full refund and cancellation of order. If they're going to make you wait a few months at no discount price, you might as well order it from somewhere else!

Beware - this code doesn't seem to be working anymore. You receive a nice email from them, confirming your discounted purchase... but then without warning they take the full amount.

Absolute disgrace.

A friend and I have had the same issues as everyone else. I made certain I printed off my order confirmation sheet, which clearly shows that my total invoice price was £47.50, but like everyone else, my account has been debited for £72.50.

My friend emailed Littlewoods & I rang them - the reply was similar, a refund of £25 would be credited back to our accounts on receipt of the goods.

Unhappy with this response, I rang back again. I explained that at no point during the online purchase process is it made clear that the £25 is a rebate & that by providing confirmation with a total invoice of £47.50, the implication is that the discount is immediate and should therefore be honoured. I demanded an immediate refund of my £25 or cancellaton of my order.

I was passed through to the accounts department who have assured me that an immediate refund of £25 will be made & if they didn't phone me back that day to assume that everything was in order & to monitor my bank statement. Two days on, still no change to my bank balance - watch this space.

Meanwhile, I have contacted Trading Standards to clarify the position on this voucher. They rang me back today to confirm that Littlewoods have not broken any agreement, as their terms and conditions explain that voucher discounts will be refunded after delivery. I'm led to believe that this is common practice for traditional mail order catalogues. Provided Littlewoods honour the £25 refund after delivery, the terms of the agreement have not been broken.

However, they do agree that by implying that the discount was immediate on the order confirmation, this was mis-leading and will be contacting Trading Standards in Liverpool to see if they can persuade Littlewoods to be more transparent during their online sales process.

If enough complaints are received from Trading Standards, then perhaps Littlewoods may consider changing their policy and honour vouchers at point of purchase in line with the major online retailers. At the very least, they may be persuaded to make their policy clearer before the buyer completes the purchase - at least that gives you the choice whether to wait or shop elsewhere.

Looking on this and other forums concerning Littlewoods vouchers, this does not appear to be an isolated issue. If you have a strong opinion, I would recommend sending a constructive complaint to your local Trading Standards through http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/contact?action=complain

Re the above, Littlewoods terms and conditions are as follows:

2. Ordering Goods
2.1 All orders placed through our website will be subject to our acceptance of the order.

2.2 When you submit an order to us on our website you will receive a 'bounce back' confirmatory email of this order saying that we are processing your order. You will then receive a second email from us acknowledging your order and giving you estimated timescales for delivery. You should check both emails for accuracy and let us know immediately if there are any errors. Neither of these emails constitute acceptance of the order by us. Your order will be accepted by us (and a contract will then be formed between us) when we despatch the goods to you. Title to the goods will pass to you on delivery.

2.3 Promotional codes are codes that enable customers to obtain benefits such as discounts, free delivery and free gifts. These codes are non-transferable so may only be used by the person to whom they are issued and must only be used in accordance with their terms and conditions of use. If you use a promotional code to claim a promotional benefit, you must first check that it was issued to you and that you are eligible to use it. By using it to claim a promotional benefit you will be confirming that:-

(i) you are entitled to use the code;
(ii) you meet all the conditions that apply to its use;
(iii) you agree to the terms set out below.

If, before accepting your order, we find that you are not entitled to use the code or do not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reject your order or alternatively process it without the promotional benefit being applied. If, after accepting your order, we find that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that you obtained. If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account.

2.4 Should you wish to cancel your order or return any goods, please go to the Returns section for further information.

Provided you meet the criteria for the offer, this should be refunded i.e. you are genuine a first time Littlewoods customer. I think this is why the refund is made at a later date - to allow Littlewoods time to establish eligibility, although I still believe that they should be more transparent about this.

Following my previous posting, although my Wii Fit is not due until early June, the £25 discount was finally refunded in my bank account yesterday. My friend who ordered on my recommendation also received a refund of the discount.

Thinking about using this voucher, but after all the horror stories about littlewoods taking it back, I'm still kind of wary. Seems to me all the problems occur with £25 vouchers, the lower priced ones at £10 go through ok. However may just try my luck, seems to me littlewoods refunded all the money, maybe their just accepting them now, plus the one before christmas was issued to a limited amount of people, and since I am a new customer, there should be no problems hopefully.

EDIT: Can't seem to use this voucher, thinks I've bought something before when I've not.

Code is rejected & saying not met the rules:?
#27
Hey, i used this voucher,

But at checkout out it says 'Voucher only available on first order. Voucher rules not met'.

Strange considering ive never ordered of Littlewoods Direct before :S

Anyone know a way round this? or a voucher for existing costumers?

Might be because you have ordered from Great Universal or Littleswoods (non direct) or Additions Direct before? - They are all part of the same group so you can only do one.

Do Not Order From Littlewoods - i used this voucher to buy resistance 2 for thr ps3, i ordered on the phone and the confirmed the cost would be £19.55, imagine my suprise earlier today when i checked my account and £35 was missing from it ! with the name LITTLEWOODS DIRECT sat there innocently next to it. - FRAUDSTERS.
#35
i take it this is still the case?

As one of the posters put above, Littlewoods take the money off you and then put it back. I've done this a dozen times (if not more)
#36
I called trading standards thru consumer direct, they are receiving a lot of complaints about their voucher codes, if you think you've been done then go to their website and post or call them with regards to your complaint.
#37
Even if any of these Littlewoods voucher codes did work, my experiences dealing with them in the past would rule out me ever ordering through them again. A terrible company...
#38
No more littlewoods!!!
