Instructions:I received this discount code in the post today from Viking Direct. Bizarrely, it came in a parcel with a 1kg of Traditional Biscuits!?!

It's worth noting that you can get them to price match and there's also 5% Quidco.

Expires on the 27th of September.

How do you use it? I can't add it to my trolley, it's an invalid code..

I was assuming you could use it online, but after re-reading the letter, you have to call them on 0844 4120000 and quote the discount code 3736.

So this would get you a Medion MAM2100 Laptop for £310?

1 Gig Ram, 100GB Hard Drive, Just a shame about the AMD TurionTM 64 MK-36 but maybe better than the HP Celeron I've seen elsewhere if you take everything into account?
#4
.. or the Fujitsu Siemens Celeron M440 512MB/60GB for just £232?
#5
Just ordered myself the £238 laptop, manythanks:thumbsup: voted hot hot hot !

Thanks for this - sounds awesome!

Was just wondering - I tried to order something as a first time customer. When I quoted the discount code, I was asked where I got it from - when I explained, was told that I could not use it as a new account holder. Any reccommendations about what to say if they ask?

Thanks!

How about registering on-line and then trying? Might make you look like an existing customer?
#8
Open a account, buy 1 marker pen for around £1, once you have that then place your order and use the code!
#9
or a Samsung Widescreen 20" TFT Syncmaster monitor for 157.44

Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately when I phoned up to place my order having created an online account, she said the code had not been recognised. She seemed to think you had to be a business customer to use a code.

Has anyone else found this?

Are you ordering from business or personal accounts?

Thanks again!

Sorry to be off topic here but the above line cracked me up no end...
I'm guessed that is Viking's way of a punishment for using a discount code... :p

Did you use a business or personal account?
At what stage did you use the code - what did you say?

Thanks!

not a lot..

...I haven't ordered anything - was just quoting the price as it would be.

To be honest, I wouldn't have a punt at something that isnt online. The more calls they get from us lot, the more suss they're going to become...wouldn't you say?

Having said that, voted hot!!
#15
Yeah you're probably right - it was a bit suss when I couldn't give a good explanation how I got the code!
#16
you bought a tin of biscuits on ebay and had that letter with it????
#17
Scan the letter in.

which one? cant seem to find it. can you post the link please?

I have a business account, and regularly get letters like the above with discount codes or money off vouchers. THe last voucher was £50 off - no minimum spend. However, the vouchers are generally tied to each account, as they can't be giving away £50 to everyone!

Jee

P.s. I got a box of lindt truffles!
#20
Agree with Jeewhiz, I have a business acc too and I got a letter with a 25% code. It was only for 1 use and only for my account so I suspect this will be the same, although it would be great if everyone got to use it, lol.
#21
Anybody else without a business account manage to get the discount then?

Just tried again and they are saying this code is not valid, the guy even asked me if I got it from Hot UK Deals, so I think its been rumbled.

Well at least I now have an account. anyone want to buy me one and I will give them cash?
#23
their loss i guess - smart moneysavers will wait or buy elsewhere.
#24
This is not a legitimate offer.

Viking Direct do not have a 33% promotion code in existence.

This offer was given to one customer only and Viking Direct have been absolutely flooded with orders requesting the 33% promotion is applied against their order.
#25
i know i'm banging on about this...but if anyone missed out on the 32" samsung hd digital tv this code makes it £400 too!! watch me wait again and miss it...!!
#26
Can confirm that this is not a valid promo code. VD codes have an alpha-numeric prefix.
