Instructions:To help get your Christmas shopping off to a flying start, here's up to £4 to spend on postage & packing when you buy an item on eBay.co.uk.

How to get started: Select and buy any one item you want on eBay.co.uk for a minimum of £1, ensuring that the seller accepts PayPal. Pay for your purchase with PayPal and enter the redemption code CACTIVEOCT when prompted during the PayPal payment process. The email address you registered for your eBay and PayPal accounts must be the same in order to redeem your coupon successfully.

Not sure if this will work for everyone, but worth a try. Thanks to dac72 for the pointer.

edi, aren't these usually PayPal & eBay user specific?! Or does this one happen to be for everyone??

This code looks like a ComputerActive offer to me ;-) So might well work for anyone.
#3
Thanks Ray :)

Not sure X10... as Ray says it may work but we'll wait for some feedback from members.

Just tried on Ebay and it didnt work, it read
'This Redemption Code cannot be used from your PayPal account'

Didnt lose out, used on an immediate payment item...

Shame...
#6
Didn't work for me either.

Oh well, thanks anyway :)

Don't take risk, check first with any item with immediate payment required (Item #: 140047911489 or any one) if it is valid for you account!
#8
How does that work?

Nice one edi/0d0d!

Is there an easier way to find an item that requires immediate payment? I've spent the last 10 minutes looking for one to no avail :(

I want to be sure it will work before I buy anything, as I have never had any luck with eBay codes and have lost out in the past!

EDIT: Finally managed to find one....and....'This Redemption Code cannot be used from your PayPal account.' Grr, even though I did get the email about it and my ebay and paypal address is the same. What is the deal with paypal sending out codes that never work?
#12
Tested it, no good for me!

I was emailed one of these codes from paypal once and when I emailed paypal as to why it did not work, they went all stupid on me and accused me of not entering it incorrectly. A complete waste of my money as I purposely bought an item with hiked postage in order to take advatage of the code.

Paypal are run by a person who has a brain the size of half a peanut.

Posting Paypal codes is pointless.
#15
Some have worked in the past as they were generic, but mostly all recent ones haven't.
#16
why pointless? works for some...
#17
I have saved a bit on postage in the past. Some work and some don't.

I guess it's the chance you take with these codes but buying something that you know has inflated postage in hope that the voucher will work seems a bit silly to me.

Failed for me as well.

Seems pathetic to me that they would email me a code that doesn't work.

Most people would take advantage of a postage reduction voucher code which would make the item almost free, so your reply is a bit silly.

The point is that the code only is supposed to work for the people who it has actually been mailed to. Sometimes, quite rarely on here, it does work for another person, which is why we share these codes, in case someone has the chance to save a few quid.

Last month for example, a code wouldn't work for me, but it did work on my OH's account, so I made a purchase through it instead, saving £2.50.

'Supposed' to being the operative word. They never did explain why the code they emailed directly to me never worked. They did confirm it was a genuine code but that was about as useful as they got.

No go for me either. I wanted the thing anyway so no loss........ but I did ensure my emails at paypal and ebay were the same beforehand.

maybe your ebay account email address and your paypal email address are not the same, which is needed to redeem codes.?? just an idea.

Woo Hoo, this code worked for me!
