40% off ALL wine and champagne at Threshers

Instructions:This is a totally unannounced deal at Threshers. They won't be promoting it in the press or in-store (don't ask me why!)..

But using the coupon linked from this deal (via wine manufacturer Stormhoek) you can get 40% off all wine in store. It isn't valid on 3 for 2 offers or other offers, but otherwise works on any other wine in store!

Do you know if this can be used in the shops that come under the "Threshers" group name, i.e The Local and Wine Rack. I dont have an actual Threshers near me only The Local
#4

#5

Hmm - lets say a bottle costs £6

40% off offer
Buy 3 = £18. 40% off = £7.20. Total price = £10.80

3 for 2 offer
Buy 3 = £18. 3 for 2 = £12. Total price = £12

£1.20 saving

(Or, you can typically get £8 wines on special for £4 at Sainsburys/Tescos/Morrisons, etc.)

Well yes, but this 40% off applies to all wines and champagnes and so is quite useful if you want to buy something from the large selection of wines that aren't on a 3 for 2 offer. I would have thought this would be particularly useful when buying champagne at this time of year.

Im dubious about this, shops arent supposed to accept photocopies/printed off vouchers, and when the person at the till does accpt a voucher its usually because they arent aware of store policy!

be careful!
#9
Good work fella!

The last offer I had from Threshers was a print out and they just entered the code and it came up ok. So I don't see any reason why this one won't work the same way. Look out Tattinger, here I come!

I'll report back on the 30th when the offer starts.
#10
It's a legitimate offer but not as good an offer as what Thresher are doing for their business partners. Basically we're getting 40% off too, but we also get the 3 for 2 deal as well! Sweet!

So in the above example:

Buy 3 = £18. 3 for 2 = £12. Take off 40% Total price = £7.20!

If anyone reading this is a Thresher business partner and haven't heard of this give em a ring.
#11
just to let you know the 3 for 2 offer is not available to anyone during the 40% off offer and that black and white copies will be accepted.
#12
Surely they won't accept this if you try and buy a bottle of Dom Perignon??

Here's the storefinder:

http://www.threshergroup.com/htm/t_storefinder.htm

It seems to return victoria wines stores too, anyone know if the offer is valid in them?
#14
This is dong the rounds on email now, my mates that never send me bargains are emailing it to me!
#15
So this means i can get a bottle of Dom Perignon for £60 usually £100

Anyone try my new link...?
#20
Thanks for that mate, this will definately come in handy for the xmas party and to celebrate the new year with my gf :)

rep added and voted the deal hot!
#21
Missed this first time around :) Thanks t0m!
#22
Do you not have to spend £500 in one transaction then?
Also how do I download the voucher?
#23
not such a good deal on the champagne front.

threshers prices are way over inflated and even after the discount are broadly similar to super market prices - which you can get lower if you buy online and use an online voucher
#24
This is a legitimate offer But as the small print states it cannot be used in conjuntion with any other offer even for their business partners... sorry Gazbert

Contacting the stores will not get you a voucher...

mrblast, normally in Threhers all wines and champagnes are 3 for 2 not just a selection unlike sainsbury's etc....

The trick with this is to buy as much as you can afford (wines for christmas and champagne for the new year ) dont waste it on a £4.99 wine.

MOET in this deal will work out at £17.99.
Which is about £2.00 less than the major supermarkets at the moment
#26
Anyone bought any wine or champers today?
#27
Yeah any word on this deal?
#28
I went to Thresher earlier today and the offer was in full swing the shelves (wine) were literally bare... next delivery is Saturday... spoke to the manager who explained which stores in the area have the biggest wines selection...
#29
Hi,

Went in today and got myself about £200 worth (at their prices) of wine for £120. The prices were over-inflated originally, but I got 12 decent bottles of wine that usually would have cost £6 plus each, a botle of Moet and a bottle of vintage Bollinger worth about £55. So probably £150-£160 worth for £120.

It's going to be a good Christmas!
#30
Tesco have a 25% off 6 bottles or more...a better deal than Thresher in my opinion as it applies to wines already on offer.
#31
They were just talking about this deal on BBC Radio 5 Live about an hour ago... lol
#32
Just been on BBC1 News and Threshers are going to honour it :) Thanks again to the original poster ;-)
#34
This is clearly a viral scam by Threshers. They normally sell all wines and champagnes at buy two get one free and all their wines are markedly more expensive than anywhere else. So if a bottle is priced up at £10, you end up paying £6.66 for it, which tends to be more or less what other stores charge for it anyway. With this voucher you'll pay £6 as it doesn't apply to the buy two get one free normal offer. Meaning the real saving is minimal, around 10%, not the 40% that Thresher wants you to think it is. The company wants as many million people as possible to rush to buy up all their stock of overpriced wine, but careful shoppers will find better deals at Tesco, Majestic or any of the other drinks retailers that sell wine at decent prices rather than trying to trick people into paying over the odds.
#35
and its just been featured on the Radio 4 evening news at 6:00pm!!
#36
..and BBC1 news this pm. Their marketing manager will be getting a Xmas bonus this year.
#37
They say they should be able to afford it lol

It began in South Africa apparently and was only meant to share with friends and family. Guess they didn't count on all online friends and family sharing it across the world!
#38
loads on ebay !!! with purchases to unbelievable
#39
Is it not a condition of the discount that you have to buy £500 of goods in one go though? Even with 40% off thats a wad I can not afford just on booze.
#40
Just been on Radio Five, people saying Tesco's are cheaper though which is funny.
