Instructions:Just received this link for a printable voucher for 40 % off purchases at Threshers. Also valid for affiliated companies - Haddows, Wine Rack & The Local. Doesn't seem to have been posted before, although a similar promo was run earlier in the year.

Exclusions are Champagne, Sparkling Wine and Fortified Wines, otherwise no specific restrictions.

I know they are not the cheapest to start with, but if it is your local off licence and with 40% off, there are bound to be some relatively good deals to be had.

I hope this of use to some of you...Cheers!!

Understand problem with link....

Please try

Hope this solves problem

Am I wrong in thinking that there was a similar voucher last year, and that it wasn't meant for general use? I'm sure that it was for a company or some reps to use, but loads of people started using it- Threshers did honour it tho:thumbsup: Not sure if they would honour it again:oops:

No - absolutely right Taz. I cannot believe they would make the same mistake again a year on with a non-specific voucher!! If it is for staff / employees only - surely they would have the sense to either name or code voucher! Personally I think it is good pre-xmas marketing as it probably brings them to comparable prices with the superstore promos! I have asked the Mods for their thoughts on this though.

Link doesn't work.

They said the 40% off last year was a "misstake"... yeah right  .... they did quite well out if it I believe!

rockhound....could you please upload the image using a different source...such as bestsharing.com your link doesnt work.(your link is for logginf into the website using your login details.

I'm sure there was an insider source that leaked this on purpose last year (It happended early this year also).

The voucher brings prices in line with Tesco Direct, etc. It's a way of them competing by using the hype these vouchers create. Go to Tesco (or similar)
#9
Threshers normally do 3 for the price of 2, which is effectively 33% off. That's their normal sales proposition. This voucher is just an extra 10% off that discounted price. As others have said, it brings them into line with the big supermarkets.

Is it any good for spirits? I'm quite up for some scotch.

Give it time to load.

Anyway, the voucher is ONLY for still wine and NOTHING ELSE so OP needs to amend misleading title. Only at participating stores too. Still HOT if you like wine (unless they put their prices up recently to cover discount which is becoming all too common these days)

2. Name must be completed for voucher to be validated.
3. Discount is only available on Still Wine - excludes Champagne, Sparkling and Fortified Wine.
4. Discount is available between 1st September and 30thNovember 2007 inclusive on branch held stock only.
5. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with 3FOR2/Buy 2 Get 3rd Free nor any other voucher or offer. No further discounts apply.
6. Voucher can be exchanged at participating stores only - please ask instore.
7. Voucher cannot be exchanged at Main Line stations, Petrol Forecourts, Center Parcs or Student Unions.
8. Only one voucher per person.
9. There is no cash alternative.
10. The value of this voucher is 0.0001p.

Hopefully amended link I have provided is ok for everyone. I hope they honour it...but I think it is just a good bit of pre Xmas marketing.

This is just low-cost viral advertising for Threshers!

As others have mentioned, the same offer was 'accidentally' released to the public last Christmas.
As I purchase around 18 bottles of wine for my staff at Christmas, I thought that I would use the offer.
I printed a voucher and visited Threshers.
The prices with a 40% discount still seemed to be quite high on the range offered.
I decided not to purchase on that visit and tried Tesco for comparison. Even with 40% off, the prices were still considerably higher than similar wines on offer at Tesco.
I eventually purchased all the bottles at Tesco, and got a better rate due to multi-discount buy and 600 Tesco points worth £24 in deals.
Moral: 40% off is only good value if they cannot be purchased cheaper elsewhere.

Managed to pick up some excellent Wolf Blass wine at £5.99 with 40% off. It was the cheapest I could find after visting all the supermarkets.

I can't believe people are falling for this con again. Thresher's prices are artifically at least third higher than anyone else to force people to use their buy two get one free permanent promotion. 40% of those high prices is still going to make them a lot more expensive than, for instance, the 25% off that sainsbury's was offering off a third lower prices.

Don't fall for this cheap promotional scam.

I must agree with the above, same scam as they pulled last year!

Sorry A1 - not maybe as easy as that. I have to confess to going to the Supermarkets for majority of wine but.. for nice 'vanilla' tones try an Australian Shiraz, or Shiraz Cabernet. Some of the better Rioja's are allegedly similar for their 'vanilla'.

Honestly though, the taste for one person may not be the same as another, so if you find something you really like and it doesnt give you a sore head - go for it!
