Is anybody else having trouble with this?

I received the code via email for signing up but when click the link and enter the code the discount is not applied, no images are shown, bit of a mess and e-mail not recognised?

Help!

worked perfectly, needed a return ticket so signed up for a £5 on two different email addresses and ordered two singles separately to use the £10 off.

You have to click on the link that is given to you in the email i.e. :

http://www.fgwtickets.co.uk/promotion_init.asp?spromotion=FGW5OFF&sitecode=FGW

The discount is shown when you are about to pay.

I have found with FGW they often put up the single ticket option even if you request a return journey. Click the 'View flexible return tickets' button at the top of the 'Journey Options' page to see the real return tickets - this should give you your cheaper options.

Thanks OP - needed 2 tickets to London for Easter Saturday - saved £10 off the price by getting 2 seperate return tickets.

Haha lol.

This is greay for going to Chester from Rhyl. (Child Ticket)

The fares have gone up recently, which means a cheap day return is £5.95, but an Anytime day return is £6 exactly... Which means I can go to chester for a £1.... lol

This is a great deal, especially if you get two codes for each part of a return journey.

Make sure you check the prices on the website of the train company who you will actually be travelling with to make sure they don't have any cheaper deals.

e.g. I was going to use this deal (again) to book tickets to London, but then realised that because of a special set of Internet Advance tickets that EMT only have available through their website (they're highlighted in green), it was actually cheaper to use them rather than go through FGW and get £5 off.

NOTE: Any unused codes you have left over from the last time this ran are still valid now that the promotion is running again

Its normal for a single to only be fractionally less than a return. For some reason, they no longer advise you about return tickets obviously, you need to click on "more ticket options" and select the return from there, which should also be £33. The benefit of FGW is they don't charge for postage (unless urgent) and they don't add a handling fee.

Which journey did you use this on? I've only ever seen return journeys which are a few pounds more than a single - which would work out cheaper than 2 singles with 2 £5 vouchers.
