can these definately be used in Tesco?

Definitely.

Though you may have to push it past a confused check-out assistant and to their manager.

Confuses me too, where does it say it can be used in Tesco? The voucher in the link has Asda all over it, and no reference to Tesco...

wasn't going to do Asda this weekend, but kind of feel compelled now so thanks (I think), heat added.

Tesco accept all their main competitors' vouchers.

They don't advertise the fact much but it's company policy.

For instance, for the last 2 weeks I've been getting £10 off my Tesco shopping using some '£10 off a £50 spend at Waitrose' vouchers. Have also used Sainsburys vouchers there in the past.

So I can personally confirm that these are as good for Tesco as they are for Asda.

This coupon was refused at my Tesco, because there isn't an Asda in the local area:x.

I used both of the vouchers today. I put £117 of shopping through, used the £10 voucher then put the rest of my shopping through and got a £5 off.
Brilliant deal . thanks :-D

Question is what do Tesco call local? My nearest Asda store is about 9 or so miles away. In any case I would struggle to spend near £50. Perhaps i should get married to get some of these savings. :whistling:

Strange. Our nearest Waitrose is 5 miles away from our nearest Tescos, not exactly local, but they let me use the vouchers fine.

Our nearest Asda is about 15 miles away. :( if it was any closer I wouldn't shop at tesco. They've honoured Morrisons vouchers in the past (we have one in town).

Could well just be an awkward manager, we've never got them to honour any of their misprice policies either when they've overcharged.

Tesco tills have a competitors coupon button on their tills to manually accept coupons, usually but not always the norm, there does need to be a competitor somewere in the area.
If any probs using them at Tesco, ask to speak to the checkout manager,as they deal with such like things, not any old manager,as they have specific depts and sometimes a manager from another dept won't have a clue about tills.:?
Or ask first before using, at customer services,ie if I spend £100 in your store today, will you accept this voucher,or do I need to go to Asda,I think you get the drift, they would rather you spent it in their store

Apparently there is a Tesco token in News of the World on Sunday. Prehaps we can use this one as well! I am waiting until Sunday.
#26
Thank you ,we will be go 2 ASDA later on..so well hot
#27
Presumably "Kiosk" is the entertainment section?
#28
An Asda w*rker informed me of this as I was shopping at 6 this morning. As we needed nappies, washing powder and a few other pricey items this week I easily cleared the ton for the tenner off. Multibuy savings were a further £28 too ! I could have saved a further 20p had I known you can print your own vouchers though :D

I work on checkouts at Tesco and whilst most spend and save competitior coupons can be used occasionally Tesco will specify that they will not accept a particular one. In this case Tesco have made all checkout staff aware that they will not accept this voucher. Mind you..... if you have to buy the paper anyway it's always worth a try, you might get someone who doesn't know!!!!!:whistling:

Used a printout one at my local Asda yesterday (my other half did). Initially they claimed that it was a photocopy and it should have been from a newspaper so they called for the supervisor. She also wasn't aware of print out vouchers and ended up getting a newspaper and scanning in that.

According to the comments on the Asda web site, doesn't sound like i'm (the missus) is the only one who's run into this problem.

the printed out one work fine in tesco yesterday for me.

Used in Tesco's yesterday, they will accept most other stores sainsbury's Asda, if your not sure ask at customer services like i did,

They are all moaning on on there, i just left a comment

They all say they will go to Tesco......... and i'm thinking. "well stop saying it, and just do it!" like Asda will even care. People just go to the nearest shops, if they have no car.

Even these online shoppers are moaning as they had to carry the bags from the van?. I find that lazy. You can please everybody all of the time can you. It's a voucher on a certain day, and if you miss out, then you miss out!. I do think it would have been better to have this voucher valid for a week though, then people could shop when they liked and not on the busiest shopping days.

I hate asda when it's packed, you can barely move
#36
Tesco near me are accepting them, if you go through the self service checkout it takes it off any spend too. I only took the £5 and thought I'd give it a go on a £22 total. It worked and I paid £17 for the shopping....wished I'd took the tenner voucher with me.

Spoke to relative who works at Asda and she said yesterday was manic with the vouchers. They were even advising customers to buy a 20p newspaper to save them £10 off their £100 shop (during the checkout process), but many customers simply gave them a blank look and never bothered.

My voucher printout was done on a mono printer (at work) - She said that they were told that if it didn't have a green strip across the voucher then it was a photocopy and they shouldn't accept them. What a load of rubbish, never says anything about printing out in 'colour only'.
#38
My local asda had 2 people handing these (printed out and cut up) out to customers (asking how much they would be spending and giving them 1 appropriate voucher).

Had a voice over the tannoy system telling people about them as well and saying go and see Charlotte or Paul at the front of the store for one

hardly lazy , think the delivery charge is enough for the driver to deliver shopping to the door , its what hes paid for. my next door neighbour is 79 and was asked to get the shopping from the van , that is a disgrace
