Great! I'll have a wee look for bargains!

(P.S. I added the retailer name to the title)

Does changing the title of the bargain mess up the email alerts that people are sent?? I got an email regarding this but the link in the email comes up "Error: Page not found".

I seem to get this quite a lot to be honest and it is a bit annoying as I never know if the bargain has been deleted or if some other error has occured:thinking: I will often keep the email if I cannot look at the bargain or am considering it as a way to click to it directly, but I suspect changing the title causes the above area. Agree that sometimes the titles need changing or improving, but would nice if it didn't break the email links people are sent.

Yees it does, but nothing we can do about it... sometimes people write very sparse titles, (not meaning you Muwolves) and we need to add more info.

erics - Switch to using RSS instead of email alerts. The email alerts are really a stop gap for people who don't want to switch to RSS. RSS updates itself live so you never have to delete emails etc. and if something changes it will be reflected there also.

I think there is something that could be done about it, but it would require some changes to the web side of things (for instance the email link does not contain a title which changes, but a unique number which identifies the deal).

I would say if you are supporting email alerts they should work. May be from your stats the email alerts are not used very much so it isn't important to the majority of users? I have not really used RSS feeds much, but I think email alerts have the advantage that they are automatically delivered to your inbox as they occur (email client is left open, or is the first thing I will run), whereas an RSS feed means you have to go to an application and force the update - not a big step I admit but yes I am lazy!

Anyway, ignore my moaning on a Sunday morning, great site and great contributions will keep me coming back no matter!

is there a limit to the amount of times this can be used??

If you use it more than once, I suppose you run the risk of all your orders being cancelled...

Technically the deal url has a unique number in it already as well as the title so it probably would be possible.

RSS is much more flexible in terms of what we support for it (like setting a temperature). It also would prevent spam deals from being emailed (probably the source of most of your dead links) as they would just disappear from RSS. IE 7 and Firefox both handle RSS feeds right in the browser and I also believe you can get a plugin for Outlook and Thunderbird might even handle it natively.

RSS is really a much much better option for these kind of things but it's only my opinion I guess :D The feed updates itself live so you don't have to force and update.

From my limited experience - M&M Direct are liable to cancel orders from vouchers which are overused stating that they are not transferrable or they have been abused. Does anyone know where this code came from?
#13

I read in another forum that this was in a newspaper.

Please read the above posts - you're technically abusing this offer by doing that, and your orders may be cancelled.

EDIT - posted at the same time as you, You've seen it now... :)

Thanks Emma - I just read that too - so this code is great... handy to know what the Newspaper is in case they ring up to ask where you got the code from (which they did with me on my last order)

"Today's News of the World has a code hidden somewhere in the middle of the paper for 5 pounds off ANY, I think, amount of shopping at M-and-M Direct PLUS free shipping!"

EDIT : Thanks MUWolves. Posted at the same time...

1 offer per reader...is what it states emma, lol, i doubt it will make any difference to them but there are 7 people in my house, 4 of reading age, we'll see.lol.

I think anyone who is entering multiple codes to the same delivery address and is not putting through reasonable sized orders will run into some trouble.
[mod]#25
Nice on Muwolves thanks :) , I agree with Admin on this
the t&C state: one order per customer.
