Just ordered the Luxury Customer Favourites Mixed Case, which is £79.99. With delivery & the discount came to £35.98. Thats under £3 a bottle for wines that are supposed to be between £7-£10.
Purely for the purposes of research I'll drink them all as soon as they arrive & post the verdict.:whistling:

8% cashback also if you go via quidco.

Great deal - I got the same case ( it's already reduced from £103 ) plus the 8% quidco

Seems like a good deal. I have the credit in a new account now. I'm not sure that if any of you have seen this, but whats the winebank it keeps pointing to and referring to £20 each month?

Save at least 25% on everything for ever, AND save £50 right now.

We believe that our best customers should get our best deals.
So we came up with the ultimate customer loyalty scheme, the Virgin Wines WineBank...
You pay £20 (for example) a month into your WineBank (you don't need to do anything, we'll simply debit your card on the 1st of every month).
Every 3 months we pay another £20 into your WineBank (so you now have £80 in your account).
You can spend what you like, when you like

I think they are saying that if you set up a DD for £20 a month, then after every 3rd month they will add £20 to your account, meaning you then have £80 to spend on wine,so that effectively gives you the 25% saving they are referring to.HTH.:)

*** WARNING ***

If you use the £50 voucher then you are signing up to the winebank and you are authorising virgin wines to debit £20 a month from your account!!

I expect you will be able to cancel your account, but someone needs to find the small print on this offer and/or contact virgin wines to check the details.

They are also talking about this over on MSE.... they too are saying that by using the £50 voucher (or the £40 one too that was posted recently) then you are signing yourself up to the £20/month club offer!!

Wine Bank

The Virgin Wines WineBank is NOT a bank in the same sense that Barclays and NatWest are. It is a scheme where you pay us money to buy wine.

The beauty is that instead of US choosing which cases of wine will be discounted, we give YOU the discount in the form of "WineInterest" every 3 months - so you can choose the wines you want (there are a few very reasonable exceptions where you won't be able to use your WineBank balance - see Clause 12h).

How it works:

We bill your credit card an agreed amount on the 1st of each month.

Every 3 months, if you are still a member of the WineBank, we pay an EXTRA instalment ("WineInterest") equal to your monthly payment, on the 28th of the month. So if you are paying £20 a month, every 3 months you will end up with £60 you've paid in PLUS £20 we've paid in.

Your money is safe. We keep any money you pay into the WineBank scheme in a trust account, separate from Virgin Wines, so you are protected.

We keep the teeny-weeny bit of (real) interest our own bank pays on your deposits. But then we are paying you 33% (!) of what you've paid in every 3 months in "WineInterest", so that's all right then.

You are free to cancel your WineBank membership at any point. We will gladly refund any money you have paid into the WineBank.

Cases bought partly or wholly with your WineBank balance are not eligible for free 13th bottles (normally associated with Wineclubs but also including 13th bottle promotions).

The WineBank is designed so that you can get a special offer on the wines you want to buy, rather than the wines we want to discount. It is not designed for you to get multiple discounts on the same products. Therefore, on certain deeply discounted products, you have the choice of either buying that product with the money you have paid in to your account (but not the WineInterest we have paid in) OR using your entire balance to buy something else.

Customers with a VAA Flying Club number registered on their account will not receive any Miles for orders bought partially or completely using WineBank, and the collection of monthly payments will also not generate miles.

Customers with an Egg credit card who normally receive cashback for placing orders will not be entitled to any cashback for orders bought partially or wholly using WineBank balance, and the collection of monthly payments will also not generate cashback.

We reserve the right to close the WineBank scheme at any time without prior notice. In such circumstances you will be refunded any money you have paid in to the WineBank, and any money Virgin Wines has paid in will be converted into vouchers on your account, which must be used within 6 months of the date the scheme is closed.
Thanks for this, ordered the dinner party selection. Will be removing myself from the club offer asap.As per tc's point6. Probably 5 mins after delivery! Thanks Romano7
#32
Don't know if it will cause anyone any problems but T&Cs also say that minimum spend after applying a voucher is £39.99 excluding delivery. Would hate for anyone to have their order cancelled for the sake of spending a few more pounds. Section 5b in T&Cs.
Still a hot deal imo.

Repped, heated and ordered :)

To cancel will we have to ring up?
#34
at final checkout it says payment of £79.99.... so if I press the pay button, will it automatically take off the £50... that is in credit with.... im scared to press the pay button, as I dont want to be charged the full price!...... anybody help on this????.... thanks
#35
On the first/home screen there was a box to put in code and next to it one that said, apply voucher. When I got to checkout it was already applied and amount was taken off. I think what you see onscreen is what you pay, so make sure you have applied it.

Trickay I'm going to mail them to remove dd instructions - then have written record.

To get the 10% you need to follow this link www.virginwines.com/vmoneycard

this means you cannot get quidco and the 10% but the 10% is better as it comes straight off your order
