You have to fill-in/sign a form and post it back to them (so Lovefilm can claim money from RoyalMail).

If it happens again Lovefilm would likely cancel your subscription.

Do I need a credit card to prove my address?
#4
I had money taken 2 months before they were supposed to. Never using them again!
#5
@akakeysersoze: you need a valid address and a valid credit card to finish the sign-up process successfully. You wont be charged during the trial period.
#6
@midjet666: Have you contacted them? There is no perfect system and I find them very friendly and helpful in getting those faults corrected.

Do you know if this package includes unlimited Love Film player access for PS3?
#14
Which package are you signed up for? How much does it cost once free trial has ended?

Wouldnt your theory mean every house in the UK has the same postcode?
#17
I pretty much avoid Lovefilm with a barge pole, but since I got my PS3 its more appealing than getting DVD's from Blockbusters or the likes.

I might try them, doubt it though. Last time I used them I went for the trial and they charged me for 2 months, had to do a chargeback from my Bank and forced them to close my account. Hopefully Amazon will change them.

Umm, no. Roads usually have the same postcode, therefore "next doors" postcode is usually the same as yours.

Just to say I have used Lovefilm for a couple of years and they have been fantastic.

The turnaround times are very impressive and I haven't had a single disc go missing.

Blockbuster by comparison I found to be dreadful - always seemed to take Blockbuster a week to receive discs, allocate new ones and get them posted out.

thats not sure.. if you live in a long road (say 100+ houses), then postcodes slightly differ by one letter.

Besides, if you change your postcode from NE7 8XX (example) to NE7 8XP then that should be ok even if "8XP" doesnt exist, as it will find you with the name, 1st and 2nd line of the address as well as the area.
#22
Do Lovefilm have any actual paying customers? oO

I have used Lovefilm for 4 years, Good Service, Only problem is they dont rent Universal titles, hopefully Amazon will make an agreement with Universal.
#25
Last time I used Lovefilm just for Blu-Rays, but it always took them ages to get the latest titles that were already in the shops, so I cancelled.

Also found it too time consuming to find something to watch on their website.

Does anyone know what package option this works on, is it just the £5.99 one ??

Erm no!!
In hillbilly country each hill has its own postcode..shame on you for not realising that!!!

It's actually done on house number plus postcode, otherwise there would only be one person per group of houses who could get a free trial. It might be worth trying a variation on your house number, perhaps 15a rather than 15?

My brief experience of Lovefilm showed that their turnaround was very quicky, but I very rarely got films I really wanted to watch. Out of the ten or so that you have to have on your list, I always got films from the lower five, the top five films were never sent.

every one on your road will have the same postal code - chances of them not being are around 1%

For those interested, for an actual explanation direct from the post office, go to:

http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=400044&mediaId=9200078

and look at section 2, in particular: "How does a postcode work".

Reading that would show that a postcode is down to postal route and so won't necessarily be the same even for shorter streets as some streets can have a complex layout. I'm not saying that 1% is incorrect, it might be, it might not be.

Hot for me. Recently moved house and can use new bank details from mortgage lender. Just need to make up a new e-mail.:D

During my free trial I returned my disks 4 days before my next payment date and my account was canceled but lovefilm still took my money 10 days earlier, they said the next payment date was wrong and once i had cancelled changed to to 10 days previously. They support sucks had to take the matter up with my bank, still awaiting an outcome.
#32
Anyone know if you can go through TopCashback or Quidco as well as using the code and getting 60 days rather than 14? Somehow I imagine that the cashback will be declined if that code's used.
#33
is this valid for any package, including ultimate?
#34
Do after 60 days free trials I have to pay something monthly? Or I can just leave it and just use 60 days for renting movies for free?

Where does the above code COME from???

I can't find it anywhere and it seems like an odd code number to me??

I got an email this morning saying I was on the 14 day free package, but the website says the next payment is in March, so I think ignore the email, just in case anyone else out there sees the same thing.

You need to be a new subscriber to get the deal. Some found a way by using new email address and play with post code.
