Unfortunately I think you'll find that one free trial and that's it..I was with these through Tesco and a further trial was refused....I may add I found the service really bad so hope it has improved.

Just thought I'd share my experience on this...

I just tried signing up a few mins ago, first I entered the LVAL2M4 code and it told me I'd get 6 discs free rental. Then I tried the epal3m6 code and got 93days (yes ninety-three) of free rental :-D

Perhaps the first post needs amending? :)

Heard about people getting a second trial period by saying they live at house number 1A rather than 1 (chances are the postie will think it is a typo and deliver to 1). They also registered with a new yahoo email address required by the DVD companies. Not tried it myself yet as I've got another two weeks before I cancel my 2 month free trial.

First ever post on HUKD

just thought i'd add for free its OK, but the service is terrible. They never sent me out a 'new' release in 3 months of been with them. Also if u sign up for a service like 3 at a time or so they rarely send out that many.

Also when you cancel they may offer 3 months for the price of 1. Something along those lines quite a while ago since i used them. Blockbuster seems the have the best service in my experience.

I agree with everything you've said there leopea3! I'm only on their service as it's one of these 3 for 1 offers. There's no way I'd pay full price for this service.

Welcome to the forums.

Is lovefilm still a pain in the @$$ to leave?

i.e. do you still have to ring them and all that nonsense?

I'm fairly sure you can do it on-line between 10pm and 8am the following morning.

Can you rent the xbox 360 titles on the trial?

I recently left lovefilm due to poor service ie. not getting any new releases. Since the merger/takeover of screenselect you can now cancel your account online. They've already sent me a 3months for the price of 1 offer but I'm not going back, they seem to deliberately delay in sending out films if you send them back too quickly.

I also used 2nd code and got 93 days free rental (2 discs at a time).

Canceling should be easy, since go to my account and click cancel... is this not it?

no, I just sent back the last DVDs, deleted everything in my request list and cancelled via the web site
day after the DVDs were received by LF I had an email to say the account was closed

Yep, exactly the same here. They seem to delay reporting returns then make you wait 24 hours plus before allocating the next film. Seem sthey are trying to limit you to three DVDs a week

Like Emma I have 3months for one but will cancel as soon as its up.

Just trying MyMovieStream on there 3 month free trial as posted yesterday.

Mind you I have had free DVDs for a least a year via ScreenSelect, LoveFilm BlockBuster etc etc so I guess I cannot really complain.

Just signed up using the 2nd code and it's gone from 93 days free to 21 days, and now to nothing... Anyone else had problems with the codes?
#18
Welcome to HotUKDeals all ne members here and Thanks for the excellent find mrbond007 :)

Used LoveFilm before and the service was pretty good. If they're limiting to 3 DVDs/week, that's still not a bad offer. As long as you get the full 62 days that is...

Been with Screenselect/now lovefilm for a couple of years now. Personally I think the service is ok, it's excellent value for money when you compare it to renting films from your local or blockbusters and I regularly get sent my top priority titles. Must be lucky i guess :-D
#21
Cool when i tried the code i got 62 days trial weird. Annoying, nevermind.
So i will edit it and put 92 days then.
Its no hassle to cancel just do it online, i hane been with them before and your right you can just put 1a instead of 1 to get the offer if you have used them before. Becaue they seem to keep all your old accounts still in there records so you cant use the same email or address again.
#22
i got the 93 days,signed up at 11 o clock !
went through quidco as well, worth a try i thought

LoveFilm Is a great service, I joined up through consolegiveaway.co.uk the free trial period is less, though get a few mates to do the same and recieve a xbox 360 or ds lite, or an ipod.

Personally I chose the 360 and stayed on with lovefilm after the trial as the service IMO is gr8.

Just as a quick caution to anyone thinking of taking out a Lovefilm trial and cancelling.

I cancelled two days before my month was due to expire - I went through with the embarassing call to confirm it - got haranged by some indian call centre creep for taking out two trials with different addresses. I got no confirmation so as a precaution I reduced my sub to the minimum £9.99. They then used this as an excuse to debit my card and send me discs again - conveniently ignoring my cancellation

the telephone lines are closed at 10pm so if you cancel your account after that time at night you can do it directly through the website and not talk to anyone, I've done it many times:thumbsup:

My boyfriend tried to get a LoveFilm trial when I'd had one at this address over 2 years ago. It went through as if it was going to work, then the next day he got an email to say the account had been cancelled. That's with everything bar the address being different.

Calling to cancel after 10pm is a good tip - I wish I'd known that a couple of days ago - now I'm locked in a huge battle with Lovefilm customer services to get my money back - after the call centre worker 'forgot' to log my cancellation. Beware everybody.

ive not had any problems at all with lovefilm, but it sounds like im in the minority, they even have me linked to several accounts when i log in but they dont seem to care, i left them a while back then got offered the 3 months for 1 offer, ive received loads of xbox 360 titles, and at the moment they've sent me out 4 at the same time so im finding it hard to keep up.

In my opinion they are a good company, but I can see why others don't think so, guess I've been lucky.

I recently took up this offer of lovefilms free trial to be told of the cons they do by a friend sadly i had signed upto these already so has i heard the news of them conning people i cancelled my account (on the same day i opened it )

I then received an email to confirm my cancellation and then about a couple of hours later i noticed another email off them stating that i have reactivated my account. (of which i havent )

I then went to my local cash point in town to notice that some of my money out of my bank account had been taken.

I phoned my bank straight away to find it was lovefilm .

I have since phoned lovefilm 3 times who have informed me that they have no money of mine

I have received NO dvds off lovefilm whatsoever has i said before i cancelled the same day has i registered with them and they still took the sum of 20 quid from bank account .

I've used screenselect for sometime which i now believe is now called Lovefilm , someone brought me 12 months subscription and i cant fault the service , i have never had any problems at all when i did order DVDs... but i feel i wasted my subscription a bit though as i have not used them for 3 months lol
So if you don't watch dvds on a regular bases i suggest you just do the free trial and cancel.

I'm in a similar position as yourself. I called and cancelled.. they billed me 12.99 even though they said they wouldn't

I'm on my fourth attempt to cancel this account and they keep asking Are you sure you want to cancel?
FFS! what part of verbal speech do they not understand? all of it? Same with emails to them.

Tried visa disputes which will refund my money, but they (LoveFilm) can carry on charging my account if they want and I have to keep doing disputes.
Time to contact the fraud dept of my bank methinks

Be careful with these free days weeks or what ever.. they will not let you go without a fight
