Instructions:Thanks to adrian2000 on MSE for this.

It's been discovered this morning that £5 vouchers (ones that have already been used) from the Capital One glitch a few weeks ago are mysteriously working again. I've just tried it and it worked.

If you saved them somewhere or kept the original e-mails, feel free to use them again.

what is the code.

These were the £5 codes (should have been £1 codes) that were sent to you via the Capital One promotion (if you kept them of course) a few weeks ago.

It's working as I've just ordered another DVD absolutely free with the use of a voucher that I already used the first time round. :-D

Mine says... "This voucher has no more credit left on it"
banned#8

#14
Yeah just dug mine out, it also has no credit on it!
#15
Mine also says Sorry but your e-voucher has no more credit left on it!
#16
Could it be that everyones is not working because there order before was £4.99, but my old order was £7.99?
#17
Also is everyone actually using the 'link' provided in the email? I did.
#18
I ordered a 4.99 cd before, and mine still works!

Think Joshy may be nicking it though.

Ah, it might only apply if you used the entire £5 voucher then on an item £4.99 or more.

If you bought something for £4.99, then there will be 1p outstanding on the voucher and therefore not entirely used.

If this makes sense. :-D

EDIT: Scrap that, it's the other way around.

Managed to order another free DVD LOL!!!

I was trying to buy over the hedge at £12.99 :giggle:
Oh well, was pleased with the fiver off someones xmas pressie last time!
#24
I used the entire voucher last time but can't use it this time.
#25
:-( Not working for me either, still nothing ventured and all that!!!:santa:
#26
Mine has credit on it, but only a value of 1p. And I bought something worth more than £5 the last time.
#27
I think possibly, this only works for people who didnt use the full £5 up.

grdesigns order was £4.99, hence he didnt use it all up, my order was over £5, so i did use it all up.

Oh well, nice find for whoever it works for :)
#28
Doesnt work. Codes are unique and expire soon as used. Will only work if you havent fully checkout with code before. If you used the code before but checkout didnt go through only then may the code have been reactivated after 24hrs later. Only thing i can guess why worked for you. Others it doesnt work. Think this needs closing.
#29
No, i used mine old code completly before. I ordered Spirited Away - £7.99. I paid the £3 via Moneybookers.

Now i used the same code on Final Fantasy SW - £4.99.
#30
All i can think is maybe it might work for those who originally used the voucher and paid via moneybooker then and maybe that was the lopp hole. Not working for any others though.
#31
Sorry but your e-voucher has no more credit left on it! for me
#32
used mine - one that i've previously used before - worked fine - took the £5 off again :-)

time to start logging in to all those email accounts :-)
#33
Missed out on it last time so cant get it this time

I figured how it works a few days ago while testing them [not that i did more than one of these vouchers myself mind :o]

Okay, there are two different credit card transaction issuers that your transaction can go through: either by World Pay, or by another company. 99% of times it's World Pay who it auto goes through.

The voucher becomes expired if it goes through on World Pay.

If your transaction goes through by the other comapny, your code is reusable.

Some points:
You know if your transaction went through on world pay or not because with WP, you get a confirmation email with the header Confirmation: CARD Transaction, but with the other company, you don't. For either transaction you still get the normal CD WOW Order Confirmation email.

You can check if you have any reusable codes by going back through your emails to check which item didnt have a Credit Card confirmation with it.

Once you've reused a code, it can be reused again, but only if it didnt go through World Pay again.

I kept a record of which transactions of mine were world pay and which werent, so I knew immediately how many were still live.

I have no clue about transaction below £5 as I never did any, but I would assume this glitch obviously doesnt apply to them
#38
@ Curiously: this has nothing to do with which company the transaction goes through. I had a few purchases using £5 vouchers and they all went through (all using WorldPay). The £5 voucher I tried today also works fine, so your story doesn't really make much sense.
#39
also, I'm not sure why it uses two different CC authorisation companies. I used various different cards, and it only used the free vouchers one in about 20% of transactions.

I couldnt come up with a link as to why.

maybe because its a certain type of card [but i doubt it], or maybe because WP is oversubscribed at the time of purchasing

Any one else with any more info?

I think the key lies to the CC confirmation email though, and when you get that it must finally expire the code for good.

Then there's maybe another glitch for whatever reason that youve found. This has no bearing on the fact that if your transaction goes through the other company, your code is resuable

I know 100% that's that case for everyone of mine, and a number of other people who I've gotten to try this
