Where are you going? We are going to Sherwood - got our activities all booked!

Been to Sherwood three times, it's my favourite of them as Longleat is very steep - you seem to be always cycling up hills to get anywhere! The dog absolutely adores all the squirrels coming right to the back door, would like to go again some time soon.

We have been to sherwood at least 20 times in the past (approx) 12 years. Also been to Oasis whinfell twice in the last few years. Prefer sherwood as it has the robin hood theme, caters for vegetarian more and village centre is outdoors rather than undercover. Whinfell has much nicer villas though

Were planning on going to Longleat next year, what do you think about it???

havent been to the one up in the lake district but have been to every other center parcs and they are all inferier to sherwood. It's the original and still the best.

I've been to every one except Logleat and concur - Sherwood outsrips them all IMHO, plus an added bonus for us is that it's only 30 mins away. In other news, it looks like they have changed their policy on dogs - you can now take up to 2, whereas before it was only 1 (I realise this will be very boring to the people who have no dogs, or indeed 1 dog :p :whistling: )

Lucky you! I don't mean that sarcastically, I live up in Inverness so it's quite a distance to get down to Sherwood forest. Oasis is a lot closer but sadly even though they've been taken over they still don't allow dogs - it's such a fantastic place for dogs (our one loves it), it's great being able to go on a holiday where the dog can enjoy it as much as we do. I do realise there's a lot of knock on effects of having dogs (noise, owners not cleaning up after them etc.) but it seems to work ok at the other three.

As for Longleat, it's much the same as Sherwood but I wasn't that keen on the actual land and layout - it feels spread out more and it's a steep hill down to the lake and back up again, found it quite tiring after a few days constantly going down steep hills and having to walk up them. However having said that, you are clearly someone who enjoys Center Parcs so you may well like it just for a change.

Do you know if the Oasis site has changed their policy on dogs? Would like to go there as it's a lot closer but as they don't take dogs, we can't go :(

Certainly looks like it, as I've just gone through the booking process (without actually booking), it says £55 for 1 dog and £80 for 2. Try it yourself for confirmation.

You can bring up to 2 dogs. How many would you like to bring?

Extra fee covers cost of cleaning and maintenance.

1 dog £55 2 dogs £80

We have always taken 2 dogs, you just ask for special permission.

We have a dog but dont take her with us as its a 2 hour drive, which she wouldnt like, and we wouldnt want to leave her in the villa on her own - so one of us would have to be there all the time. She goes to my nans instead.

Thanks for the opinions on longleat - rep added :)
