#2
Has anyone tried it yet?

Just tried to get another trial using the old trick - Start a new account with a spare email account and random address, then change the address once the account is registered.

However, it seems that Lovefilm will now not allow you to change your address during the free trial without calling the call centre. Andof course if I do that then they'll look at the account and spot how they seem to have been delivering free DVDs to this address for straight months without receiving a penny...

So does this mean that the dream is over? :-(

Thank you for your interest in our service. According to our records a free trial account has already been used at your specified delivery address with one of the DVD rental services powered by LOVEFiLM.
A free trial is available to new DVD rental subscribers only. Existing subscribers, or those who have previously enjoyed a free trial period with any DVD rental service powered by LOVEFiLM or Video Island (including ScreenSelect), are not eligible and will be billed immediately.
As stated in our terms and conditions, only one free trial is allowed per household, so unfortunately we cannot authorise a second free trial at this time.
We can allow a second account if it is paid for immediately. Please let us know how you wish to proceed, if we do not hear from you within 3 days we will not proceed with your second application.
The LOVEFiLM Team

I changed name to my wife, email and card details!

#16
I've had 2 tesco offers and had to use a different email address only each time. This also worked with another email address - thanks!

This code will reactivate an old account also - I have just done it with mine - 3 months free on Combo 3 package - next payment date 19th Nov 2008 :-D

Don't try and make a new account - sign in to your old account (making sure your card details are up to date) - click on reactivate, and use this code in the reactivation voucher/code box. ;-)

Cheers Edi!

Thanks OP..
this is my first trial,so a good start with 90day free..
#23
sometime ago they had a freetrail and free MP3 player,
firstly to cancel the trial you need to phone them,
so it's worth keeping in mind and not discovering at the last minute.
Also, they never actually sent the MP3 player,
even though they did confirm that they would be sending it.
(quite a bit of time has passed, their own '5-7 weeks' date
has passed a long time ago)

Tried to use this code to re-activate my main account with them, however they said I have already had a free trial and I'm not allowed another one (I've had two 3 month free trials with them on that account). Realised I have another email address account with them which has never been used, tried the code on that with the same address and card details, and it worked! :D

I have just spoken to them on the phone after re-activating using a different email address.

Their system recognises an address match and you will not be offered the 90 day trial eventhough the account was activated successfully.

Unless you get the second email from lovefilm which states that your account is now ready for use!?

To make it all work for those who have not tried the code yet.

Open a new account with a DIFFERENT address to the one you used before and then change it back once your account has been activated. (As mentioned earlier on this thread)

Still HOT for new customers!
#26
Voted hot, redone a old account thanks . :)
#27
Used different email address, different name but same address, it worked online at first, then came with an NO email. :x

'As stated in our terms and conditions, only one free trial is allowed per household, so unfortunately we cannot authorise a second free trial at this time.'

There is no place to change address when you log online. Hopeless then.

heated thanks. I'll read the comments now as it seems it might not be for me! :(

Reactivation Failed

Thank you for your interest in our service.
According to our records, you have already benefited from an extended free time period (known as a comeback offer) associated with the promotion code you have entered.
Customers are only entitled to one comeback offer and therefore we are not able to provide you additional free time. This does not mean you cannot have the account, however, if you do continue, you will be charged immediately.
If you are happy to be charged today, please continue the reactivation of your account. Alternatively, you can contact the Customer Services team who will be happy to assist you.

The reactivation seems pretty hit and miss - the account that I reactivated was from a while back (over 12 months) - I have had two 90 day trials recently on my second email address, but that didn't seem to matter. It's worth a go anyway - nothing ventured, nothing gained, as they say......
#34
I was hasty thinking I could signup with a diff email addy so used a diff postal address as suggested but I can't see an option to change it. Does anyone know how??
#35
does anyone know if theres any expirey date on this offer?
as i've just paid my monthly subscription a few days ago..
#36
I tried to reactivate my account but it says it's expired :x
We are sorry, this promotion has now expired
#37
but...
I tried another time opening new account with different email address and other card but the same address and it worked:-D nice.. second 90day trial:)
#38
I'm currently on my second free trial. It finishes on the 8th of September, so I'll use this new code then to try and re-active it, but I thought I'd mention my experience with reactivating my account last time...

I reactivated the account and straight away put ten films in my queue...the next day, three of the films were waiting to be dispatched - and on the day that they arrived, I got an e-mail saying their records showed I'd had a free trial already, that it was only for new customers, etc., etc. I watched the three films, sent them back, and they sent another three out... I looked at my account and it said '90 day free trial' and that my payment date was the 8th of September! :-D

So perhaps try and bang in a load of films into your queue straight away...? It worked for me.
#39
done it previous. by end of 3 months you will have run out of films
