I'm in the process of getting quotes and I found Hilarys were among the most expensive around - I've selected a small family firm in Guilford for my blinds.

And, you get a blizzard of junk mail and calls from Hilarys.

Hilary's are expensive but their on line supply only service www.web-blinds.com are pretty good, always have offers running buy 1 get 1 free , 40-50% off.
This does make them very competitive and your getting Hilary's quality which is very good, never understand anyone paying over the odds just have someone spend half hour with a drill and measuring tape.

agree i too got quotes from them and shades blinds, unbelievable quotes i got and those were for the cheaper thinner blinds

went for a local company and was quoted less than half the price for a much supierior blind

Hilarys are a joke.

Much more expensive than the local company i got round to do the blinds in my flat - this was despite the guy who came round to give me a quote warning me off said local companies as he claimed they bought their bliinds off of Hilarys anyway. I phoned the companies he mentioned and they promptly told me that was a blatant lie.

And incidentally, when upon asking if he could use the bathroom, the guy took a jobby in my flat.

I am considering them, I could not be arsed measuring myself in case I make a mistake. (One ordered a kitchen lino a metre short). And the drilling, and messing in putting them up.

P.S. Jobby.. lol.. I used to be a home visiting engineer who would never use a customers toilet, but once, I was caught short and had to rush, I did not ask, and came out as the customer was walking up the stairs.. I stunk the place out and was so embarrased..

the small local companies will all come out and measure up and give free quote as for drilling its only like 2-3 holes per blind they do a blind in around 7mins

Further to my previous post, I had an email from the local company www.affordableshutters.co.uk and they simply said that they would pop round, measure up and leave me with a quote.

Note. Other blind companies are available and the one I've selected is local to my place in Romsey.

But you do get £20 through Quidco for a genuine and completed appointment request.

I filled this in online with my preferred dates and they contacted me the following day stating that they had no slots available and can they come out on a different day. I told them not to bother!!! Quidco have still tracked and validated the £20 though!! :-D

Lol! My wife got a quote for £56 last week for a blind from web-blinds and when she went to order it today their offer has changed to BOGOF and the price is now £112 each! :w00t:

I came very close to placing an order with Web-blinds, but then I found Blind-supermarket.co.uk via Quidco. This is also part of the Hillarys group but cheaper!
I saved about £60 by using Blinds-supermarket and you get 15% quidco rather than the 10% quidco from Web-blinds.
(you might be able to use code SAVQU10 for an additional 10% off too)
