Instructions:Free £25 bet

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whats the deal?

If youre planning to place a bet on the Grand National this weekend (or just having a bet at all!), theres a way to get a totally free £25 bet.

How the deal works

If you sign up to Betfair as a new customer and bet £25 on the Grand National, it will refund the £25 straight back into your account after the race - whether you win or lose.

Betfair's senior press officer has confirmed to us that, "As soon as £25 worth of bets are bet on a new account on Betfair, we will credit that account with £25" and that the money can then be withdrawn. Read the full T&Cs for this offer.

Step by step guide to get a free £25 free bet
Step 1. Sign up for an account. Go to the sign-up page, and enter the code BFB425 in the promotional code box.
Step 2. Place your bets. Then bet at least £25 on the Grand National in one bet or in a series of bets.
Step 3. Withdraw your £25. You'll receive your free £25 within 24 hours of the race finishing and can withdraw this to your bank account.

Don't forget to go through Quidco - £30 for new members of Betfair!

Did they do this last year? Can anyone guarantee it works?

Doesn't this mean that they will refund you your £25 stake regardless of what you bet on? So it is not just for the National?

** EDIT **

BetFair T&C
Specific Terms: Matched sports bet promotion for new Betfair customers only.

Enter the promotion code detailed when joining Betfair and we’ll credit the free bet amount to your account after you’ve had at least the value of the free sports bet amount matched. “Matched” means a bet you have placed on the sports betting exchange and has been fully accepted by Betfair and has been matched with an opposing bet.

If you are eligible, in order to obtain the free bet incentive you must have matched bets with a total value of equal to or more than the free bet offer. Voided bets will not be counted towards your total value.

Betfair will use reasonable endeavours to credit your account with the free bet within 24 hours of settling the full free bet amount on the market where you have placed enough matched bets to meet the qualifying requirement.

Looking at the T&C confirms to me that its not just for the national. Anyone agree?

Yep, I think you're right. Just that the site I noticed the deal on (MSE) only mentioned the National. TBH, the GN is the only time me and OH actually bet, so ideal timing for us!

I didn't try it last year but the MSE website (where I originally noticed the code) is usually pretty reliable.

Think it's worth a go. Does anyone know if you have to put the 25.00 on a single bet or whether it can be used for multiples?
#7
I've had a punt. Signed up through quidco £30 tracked straight away. Put £25 on Baggies to beat Pompy :) If it comes off a nice profit of £100 + £25 Stake + £30 Quidco. Not bad.

Thanks for posting. May be worth editing so the post is not National specific as the promotion isn't. Might get more people interested.

In the T&C is states that you need to reach the £25 limit through "matched bets" - plural. I'd take this as meaning you could have 5 beats worth £5 each or whatever you like.

i've a feeling that if you use a promo code as well as quidco then you won't get the quidco bishbosh....somebody who knows a wee bit more about the ins and outs of quidco might confirm or deny :-D

Taken from the Quidco Betfair page:

Betfair is a new and exciting place to bet, where you'll find the odds are on average 20% better than of a traditional bookmaker. Its a market place where you can bet against other punters, not against a bookie, so the odds are almost always better as there is no bookmaker adding in their profit margin. Sign up before the Grand National and receive a £25 free bet!

I signed up through quidco this afternoon, but cashback hasn't tracked yet. Is the £25 free bet credited after the race do you think?
#12
Just registered too and put multiple bets on the national for £25 total. The 'free' £25 is credited to your acount by Monday apparently and then you can transfer it back to your bank.
Seems too good to be true I must admit but if Martin "Slash" Lewis is recommending it then it must be kosher.
Voted hot :)

Good luck everyone!!

Thought it was a free £25 bet, how are you going to tranfer this back into your account ?

You have to place £25 of your own money into your new account initially via debit/credit card/paypal to qualify. You then use this credit to place bets to the value of £25 (minimum) and then after the race, regardless whether you win or not, they will credit your account with another £25. You can then transfer this back out of the Betfair account if you so wish. At the very worst you'll be all square at the end.

*****guys - Just To Let You Know That This Has Just Tracked At £50 For Me On My Quidco Account*****

this is an awesome deal. just signed up two accounts, already have £60 tracked in quidco and placed £50 worth of bets, next day the bonus £25 appeared in both accounts and I withdrew it straight away. Basicaly got £50 quids worth of bets for free and £60 cash. Best deal ever. Also I have 10 horses with £5 quid on each so I'm hoping and praying I get a bit extra on top.
#17
How annoying. Just signed up, deposited £25 using my credit card and then it takes a percentage away! So I now need to deposit another £10 so I can stake the required £25. Tossers.
#18
****, I didn't realise Betfair was as complicated looking! How do I just place a normal bet!?
#19
Quidco have just announced cashback back up to £50 until 6 April.
Did mine this morning, was lucky and it tracked at £50
Now to work out who to bet on, good luck everyone

Can you do each way?

Can you do each way?

I don't think so, i couldn't figure out how to do it.
#22
I went through Quidco to join yesterday afternoon, still hasn't tracked.... anyone else had this problem?
#23
Do you need to sign up using the code BFB425? The code already entered in the box, when you click on the link on their homepage is different?
#24
I've withdrawn my cash. Sod that.
#25
I Changed The Code To This One....maybe That's Why I Didn't Get Quidco! However, The 25.00 Has Been Put Back In My Betfair Account, So Nothing Lost Really.
#26
you only have deposit £10 now and the cashback has gone upto £50

how long did it take to get the £50 quidco tracked. Opened an account this morning and deposited approx £30 through paypal. PLaced bets of £25 on the GN and nothing in quidco yet?
#28
Quidco are now saying that people who are putting money in through Paypal are having problems getting cash back to track.
#29
i knew i should have just used my bank acc!!!
#30
Yep, Paypal won't work for tracking, my mate had the same problem last week when signing up.
#31
quidco say to submit an enquiry so hopefully it should be sorted. Doesn;t say anywhere not to use paypal so hopefully they should honour it. WHen paying by Paypal, the customer has to pay the paypal fees not betfair, so they still get the £25
#32
i just used normal bank account, quidco tracked within a couple of hours and the bonus £25 was put into my betfair account the following day after putting the bets on. so it really is £25 worth of bets for free and and £30/£50 quidco cahback for free. I don't see why everyone on this entire site isn't doing this!
#33
you posted this first yet its another 'regular' member who posted it since and gets all of the credit! typical
#34
Just checked my Betfair account and have had the £25 credited to my account already (which I am able to withdraw).
Winner!!!!
HOT HOT HOT people!!

Just tried to do this using bank payment but transfer won't be cleared until Monday - next working day. Will debit card payment work instantly? And will it track in quidco OK?
Thanks.

Well F**cked if I know what I did!!

Went thru quidco then put £25 in account and entered code. It asked for another £2 to identify me as being over 18 so now got £27 in the account.

Clicked the Grand national bit and took me to a page with lots of numbers and the names of the horses on the left. Chose 5 at random and placed 5 to win on them (Couldn't see how to do an Each Way bet). and then clicked enter.

amount in account now down to £2.00????
It looked like I could change the odds to whatever I wanted.????
Are these individual bets for those horses to win or a sweepstake or what.????

Only said I had £27 in my account BEFORE i placed the bets. Down to £2.00 after and is still £2.00

Is that Correct or have I done wrong somewhere.????
I assume that this gets replaced after race and that monies will appear in Quidco in due course.

Thought I'd back a couple of outsiders too but got a warning about some of the odds being over 100.
Hope so but bl**dy confused now!!

Good luck all and I hope we get some good winners.
