tesco are good they deal with most of it except sending out the DVDs. I have had 3 trials and had no problem at all.

And i made the front page nice one

Cheers guys.Nothing to lose with the 14 day trial,Even if you have to pay the £4.47 for a month of the value package you get £4.00 back via quidco,Once you get any DVD rentals and hopefully the POTC DVD.Cancel and you have had them for 47p.:thumbsup:

OK for a free trial, but I'd stay away from anything to do with "LoveFilm" on a long-term basis :thumbsup:


"LoveFilm" were perfect with me, sent a dvd on day1 and received a 'new' one on day3.

Quite a few people used to have problems during the early days but they seem to be OK now - just phone up to cancle and make sure though. (They just ask you if you've sent the DVDs you've got back and you just say YES (obviously) and they will 'terminate' your account),

Have just signed up to this, it's the first ever DVD Rental Trial I have done, does the 14 day trial start from when I receive my first DVD or does it start from now after I have added my 10 titles?

Will I be able to cancel by email, if so who do we email?

Not by email mate.Log into 'my account' and select 'cancel membership' then follow on screen instructions.Wait for your Pirates DVD to show up first tho !.I joined today and my quidco credit is showing on my account already.For more info I took this from their website:

Cancellation

1. As noted above, you may cancel your subscription to Tesco DVD Rental's service at any time. Cancellation requests must be via the website, [url]www.tescodvdrental.com[/url]. To cancel, customers must notify us online via the website by clicking on the relevant section and following the instructions. This activity is tracked on the customer's account history. Immediately upon requesting cancellation, no further discs will be dispatched to you, unless they were processed by our Distribution Centre a few minutes prior to your cancellation request. We are unable to accept or guarantee cancellation requests via email or by letter (either posted, or included with returns).
2. Please note that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all discs are returned, and all discs must be returned to us before the cancellation will be confirmed. All discs must be returned before the next billing date following cancellation to avoid any further charges. Once all discs have been returned, the cancellation will take effect immediately and a confirmation email will be sent to you. We reserve the right to charge a replacement cost of up to £20 for any non-returned DVDs, and £50 for any non-returned games media. To avoid problems, we advise obtaining a certificate of posting free of charge from your local Post Office when you return our discs to us. Please note we do not provide refunds or credits for any partial subscription periods.
3. We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your use of our service, for any or no reason whatsoever. One reason that we may do so is if we believe that you are in breach of any obligation under these terms, including, in particular the section headed Rental Discs Remain Tesco DVD Rental Property'. If we terminate your use of our service as a result of a breach of any obligation under these terms, such termination would be immediate and without notice. In this event we would give you seven days to return our discs and failure to return these discs would incur charges, as described under 'cancellation' above. If we terminate your use of our service for any other reason or no given reason, then we would give you 30 days notice of termination and would expect you to return our discs within the 30 day notice period. In this event failure to return the discs within the notice period would incur charges, as described under 'cancellation' above.

Cheers Pete, another query I have put 10 DVD's in my list and they are down as queued, when will the first be dispatched?

I have 9 on low and the one I want on high.

Also, are you saying that we won't get the Pirates Of The Caribbean if we cancel before receiving it? - I am reluctant to the pay the first subscription charge TBH as I only did this trial for the freebie.

They will despatch the first on your list as soon as they have one in stock (returned from another member).If they have the title you have marked 'high' thats the one you'll get.If thats not in they will send another from your list.The deal for the free POTC says when you sign up for the free 14 day trial so that should be sent out pretty sharpish.Just mark the date when Tesco are due to take the first payment (presume yours is same as mine 3rd July) and log in the day before and cancel your subscription.They should'nt take any cash from you then.I'm gonna cancel mine as soon as my Pirates turns up.

Hey guys did you notice this on the Terms and conditions!!

Every person to complete registration will be sent a Pirates of the Caribbean DVDto keep within 30 days of registration. A valid credit card is required to redeem offer and will be automatically billed for monthly subscription fee at expiry of free trial unless subscription period is cancelled prior to end of free trial and all DVD's have been returned and received by us. Registrants must add at least 10 titles to their Selection list and have been dispatched one disc. We are unable to respond to this request via phone or email. Further terms and conditions apply - see terms and conditions and privacy policies

Can't see a problem with that myself, even when we cancel we should still get our FREE DVD afterwards as that's been promised as part of the deal.

Sorry...I'm slightly confused...can we just cancel on day 13 before we start getting charged and still get the free DVD? From a previous post (the one where it says '3rd of July', it seems to give the indication that we have to at least be with them for a month from signing up which means the first charge will have come in as it is only a 14 day trial? Can someone clarify...sorry if I'm being a dipstick :?

1.add 10 dvds to ys list
2.have one at home or use for free trial
3.cancell
4.30 days from start of free trial you should get the DVD

i wouldnt cancell day 13 i would do it befor. you never know they may post you one befor you get a chance to cancell. plus remember to cancell just as you post the DVDs so they cant send any more and clear your list.

did anyone get anythin come up about the free DVD after application? my application went a little screwed up when entering card details but still signed me up ok and ive ammended my details (name on card was wrong, i hit backspace and my browser went to go back, so then i hit return and i ended up at the home page, but signed in!!). i didnt seen anything more about the free disk.

BTW its POTC 1 that is free, #2 is dead mans chest!

i got my dvd out today it was one i put on priority but dont know anything about my free dvd or when i will get it it didnt say anything and ive now had one delivered and due to go back and still no dvd will i get one?

Had an email from them saying that i had a free trial before so i was not going to get my free dvd and that the trial has been closed on my account. My email address is no longer shown as registered! Better not charge me!

Got my rental one in the post today, I might cancel in a few days before I forget as it shouldn't jeopardise our chances of getting the free dvd.

i just got 3 films, cancelled and sent em straight back. not paying £15, they only cancel when they "receive" the discs so best to leave plenty of time!
