Just for those of us in Scotland but we get it free anyway. Just in case anybody wasn't aware of that, you have no excuse not get them checked out.

do they give you the prescription after the test?

Thanks arnie :)

Although I just had my eyes tested not to many weeks ago half price at another reputable outlet I've been thinking of having them done again as not entirely happy with the results and recommendation for the type of specs I should have.

The thought of having to pay again elsewhere has needless to say been worrying & making me feel a little :-(

So today you've cheered me up no end & made me much much happier :-D

they have to give you the presciption by law
a free eye test is just to try to get you to buy their not so cheap specs

get your prescription and shop about

When you get the prescription make sure they fill it all in.The wife got one from specsavers and when she ordered some from glasses direct the bit missing made the glasses long sighted instead of short.Glasses direct were brilliantmade up a new set and told her to keep the others.

Good deal. Cannot see anywhere that says how long the offer is on for, on their site. D&A frequently have these offers...is this one recent?

Shouldn't this be in Free Freebies?

excellent
I was waiting for this... I had my free test a while ago... this is for my gf

The offer ends 31st March so be quick. The vouchers have expiry date.

Does this "free eye test" count for contact lens eye tests as well, or just for glasses?

GF wears contacts but needs a new test soon. Wasn't sure if its the same test of different!

Free eye test include checking eye sight, inner & outer eye as well as eye muscles. Dont think this includes contact lens check ;-)

Great scam these free eye tests, told me I needed varifocal glasses at a cost of over £300,

Then went back to my opticians I used 2 years earlier (who told me at the time my eyesight was good) to find all I really needed was a set of +1 reading glasses

Beware!!

That's what they told me a few weeks ago on my half price test. While the reasoning behind it seemed solid enough (lazy eye) I know I can see fine close up so of for another test.

We did just that this week..>We used the free test voucher for my wife (I get mine being diabetic) and chose some glasses with all intent on buying them from D and A. However when they quoted my glasses alone at £440 I refused saying it's was a ludicrous amount. Add to that my wife glasses at a cost of £200+ and the total was knocking £700. We popped over the road to spec savers and got what we wanted for less than £300 - still a vast amount but certainley much cheaper than D & A
