I think this site is actually setting up an account for you. At least that is the impression I got as it was asking for previous address details as I have only been at this one a short time.

I decided to give it a miss because of that.

Think I'll give this a miss!

Just a word of warning guys. I heard something like this from Studio last year on another forum. They state in the book that it's a free gift if you purchase a certain number of items from them (or over £30 or somthing like that) If you don't they will charge you the full price.

Sorry I don't have more details. I did place the order last year but cancelled mine when people were starteing to get charged by Studio.
#10
They didn't ask for any credit card details, so they can't charge you...

If i recieve an email/phone call asking for credit card details, then i would cancel.

Be cheaper buying them from a shop.
#12
Steer well clear of these cowboys. You will be creating a catalogue account with them and may find that they substitute the 1Kg tin with a 500g box as happened last year.
Lots of people spent a small fortune trying to telephone them as they had been invoiced for 'free' items. I cannot stress how bad this lot are.

Same offer in 2004 - on MSE and debt collection agencies involved
#13
I concur. These guys are terrible. I have had disasterous dealings with them.

Two years ago, my girlfriend and I made 3 orders with them and paid each one by cheque. Each of which cleared.

Two years after this, a debt collector turns up at the door saying we owed them around £250!

Initially, I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about, since it was 2 years earlier. However, I went through all my cheque stubs and bank statements to prove that I had paid all the orders that I had made.

Sure enough, they all tallied fine and I phoned them to tell them this. They said they would look into it and get back to me. Of course they did not.

Next thing to happen was the debt collector calling back. I showed him the stubs and explained to him, but of course the debt is farmed out by Studio 24 to a third-party company.

As far as I can tell, I think their records have got into a mess because the account was in my girlfriend's name and the cheques were paid by me. But the company cannot clear this debt and a pall has now been cast over my girlfriend's name, and by association mine.

I checked experian and I still have this debt associated with me and cannot get rid of it!

Studio 24? Kill it with fire!
#14
Yikes, that certainly made for grim reading Kanester.
#15
So i think we should leave this deal here so people can get informed not to use this company?

I agree. looks very dodgy:shock:
#17
I would certainly stay clear of this.
Not worth all the trouble that too when its not totally free.
Thanks thekanester for giving us the info.

Too late just ordered
#19
Unfortunately I also ordered as soon as I saw the first post and now very much regreting it after what I've just read!
#20
You're all frightening me! You scary people!
I've had an account with Studio for well over 5 years. I order at least 3 times a year if not more. I regularly get all the freebies without a problem. The only problem I had was when I was a week late with my payment they charged me a £10 admin fee. I phoned up and really kicked up a fuss (saying it was in the post, posted it weeks ago) - a little white lie, I'd overlooked it! - they apologised and sent me a £20 off voucher for my trouble!
I'm shocked by all the hassle everyone else has had, I just hope it's not me next. I've ordered 3 freebies, I'll let you know how I get on.
#21
I emailed them to cancel, and if told them I will refuse to sign for whatever they deliver. :)
#22
I know there are a few bad stories on here, but I can say that myself and my family have used them before with no troubles.
#23
Have to stick up for them a little here; 4 tins without any problems last xmas including a 1.5kg tin as they had run out off the 800g ones. Had all the other free gifts at the same time.

This year 3 tins so far (even though i used an expired code on one they replaced with the correct code and sent)
:-D
#24

They will dump it on your doorstep - if I remember they don't require a signature. I know there are people who are very happy with their 'real' orders but the Roses freebie has ended in tears for so many over the last 2 years.
#25
I said I'd let you know how I went.

I've just received my parcel containing my delicious 1kg tin of roses and the enclosed invoice shows I was not charged. Also got the gift bags, they're really quite nice too, the free xmas cards however have sold out but they did apologise.

Underneath where the chocs were listed on the invoice was another code. I've run it through quickkshop and it comes up as

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

110-148-06KH 1KG ROSES RECRUITMENT KH STUDIO/ACE £0.00

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

not sure what that's all about but will certainly add it to my next order.

See Studio are not that scary at all!
#26
did you have to pay for postage?
#27
Hello this is my first post and i feel very strongly about Studio. I purchased a mobile phone from them a few years back it was quite a bargain. It wouldnt work so i returned it. It then took over a year to get my account refunded and every month they added interest on and i had to call them every month. Then i stupidly used them again on a item that was selling for half price and they charged me the full price so once again more phone calls i gave up in the end and paid the full price which was cheaper than the phone bill. So i stress DO NOT USE THEM.
#28
I was making an order anyway so yes I paid postage, £4.75 I think. Hardly worth if you're not ordering anything else. They have a big christmas sale on at the moment. Everything is 1/2 price plus an extra 20% off!

http://www.catalogue536.24studio.co.uk/home.asp?utm_source=IPT&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Studio70Percent

I think you can only access the deals through this link, although I might be wrong!
#29
Got my tin of roses today. P&P is £4.75 as stated. Apparently I will receive a statement shortly telling how and when to pay.
The invoice did come with a bank giro credit slip so I'm not sure if to pay via the slip first thing Monday morning or wait for my statement as they say.
I really hope there aren't going to be any problems!
#30
Paying £4.75 for a 'free' 1 Kg tin of Roses may not be a good idea when Somerfield have the huge 1.5 Kg tin for £5.99 until 7th November.

Offer details here
#31
Same as Emma above, used them before with no problems and plenty of good offers aside from the free Roses...
#32
Got mine today only 1 tin (1KG) with invoice for £4.75 P&P:x I ordered 4 tins but looks like only 1 per household. Rather dissapointed:-(
#33
I got mine too and was a little disappointed at the size - just assumed it would be the bigger tin. They do send out a seperate invoice a few weeks later...Our local Sainsburys is currently doing TWO big (2kg?) tins of Quality Street or celebrations for £9.00 and our Coop has a big tin for £5.99...Oh well never mind too late now
#34
Hi there well my order came today and it DID have my FREE tin of choccy's plus the other things i ordered, im pleased so thanks for the link, no need to be all so negative... also second order came today with another free tin inside im pleased.....
#35
I just got my 2nd tin too ;o) Thanks for your positive input Bubbles!
Dabbit - size isn't everything! They're free.....
#36
Got mine too. What are 24studio like anyway as a shop??
#37
hmmm, placed an order for a few tins and then read all of these posts.

Ive just sent an email back to them asking to cancel the order.
#38
I have also ordered, like an idiot!

Just used their contact us page to say i want the order cancelled

But will this really work? and what to do if it doesn't, i dont want the roses now and I'm a bit worried!

Please advise!
#39
Here are your cancellation rights you agreed to when ordering the item

http://www.24studio.co.uk/ss/help/help.jsp?page=terms&part=cancel

...and here are the terms relating to returns if they do deliver

http://www.24studio.co.uk/ss/help/help.jsp?page=terms&part=returns

Of course you could always refuse delivery providing they don't just leave them on the doorstep...
