#3
Brilliant, just when I needed a good deal!
#4
Dont forget to book through top cashback 5% back
#5
Thanks OP, just in time for MOT this year ...
#6
dont have a car, but what a deal
#7
Good find, unfortunately my nearest centre is a 155mile round trip, would I would save I would spend in fuel
#8
Great deal! My mot isn't due, but I will pass it on to someone whose is! Thanks!
#9
Excellent, just in time as well. Thanks!
#10
Darn, just booked mine. If you google 'mot' you get a link to Nationwide Autocentres for 33% off. Makes it about £35 - obviously not as good as this post, but I think it's a semi-permanent offer.
#11
hmmm....anyone know if i can use this for my commercial van? Its a Renault Master Chassis cab....

Thanks in advance :-)
#12
I got my car MOT'd at Nationwide on Sunday & used Tesco clubcard vouchers.

This is still a great deal for those who do not collect the vouchers or do not have enough

My car passed so I'll definitely be using them again

From the voucher you have to download....

Quote "This discount only applies to class 4 vehicles as determined by VOSA (see www.vosa.gov.uk) and excludes all other forms of transport including large vans, motorbikes and motorhomes.

Damn! and there was me hoping to get my tractor done ;-)

class 4 covers 95% of vehicles does it not?
#18
"Discounts are subject to proof of membership on delivery of your vehicle"

I presume this is membership of autotrader?

Also

"A charge will also be made for engine sizes in excess of 2200cc"

Shame :(
#19
Seems a good deal to me. Think you just need to bring the voucher in, it doesn't say you need to bring evidence you're a member of auto trader with you.

Does anyone know what the charges are if you fail? Do they give a free or half-price retest within 14 days?
#20
THANKS
#21
Does class 4 applies to most of the vehicles? I have a peugeot 206. 1.2, can I use it? Thanks
#22
THANKS SO MUCH! Even though mine is due at the end of Sep just booked it and it said it's £26.55. I still have to bring voucher, but it's reassuring it's already confirming the price. Heat and rep added!
#23
Thanks booked mine and the nearest centre is right near where I work:thumbsup:
Heat & rep added.
#24
Perfect timing. Great post
Thanks
#25
great find thanks
just booked online for my mot in september

Having never had an MOT done before (recently lernt to drive) how long does it take? One of the times says drop off before 3pm. Would they do it that day or would I have to leave the car with them? I also presume they have to tell you before they do anything to the car (ie they cant change or add or remove anything and change you after without asking first?) Also if it fails an MOT can I drive it away and get it fixed or am I stuck with paying what ever they ask??
#27
Takes about 30-45 mins for a MOT, they will tell you what it has failed on and give you a price , you can can get it fixed there ot take it elsewhere.you will then have to have it tested again, most places wont charge for a re-test not sure if Nationwide do.

Mines in for a major service & mot at Nationwide today, i always use my Tesco points to pay for it
#28
on the eVouchev it has name, address, ect and an invoice number:

does Nationwide Autocentre fill the invoice number in?
#29
just beware that some places which offer cheap MOTs may claim wrongly and intentionally that work needs doing in order to pass the MOT..

I get mine done at the local council myself who cannot perform repairs on the car. This way they have no motive to fail the car on its MOT.
#30
I posted this a few months back and it got no interests! :( Strange...

Half price MOTs are sometimes false economy as they might fail it for somethign trivial and hit you for an excessive retest fee. A mate of mine had his Vectra fail at the main dealers a little while ago on a 1/2 price MOT for his indicator bulbs not being orange enough. They stung him big time on the retest where he would hve got it free at the bottom of my road.

Not saying Nationwide would do this, just be careful and be aware.

I think your mate was conned, as for certain items only a partial retest is required and it is free by law see link

not twaddle read the terms and conditions on the downloadable voucher
#36
it seems if you get the car repaired by them the re test is free but you can get it repaired elsewhere and pay half the mot fee not clear on the voucher though

Does that not mean that they are rubbish and missing things out?
#38
Used the half price MOT test offer. Car failed but it was a fair fail as my brake discs were faulty. I took the car elsewhere for the work and took it back for the retest 2 days later. I was only charged a partial retest fee and the autotrader discount was applied to that also! So I was charged £13.27 for the retest instead of £26.55 great deal I thought.

I forgot to say for my test they were extremely thorough. I watched from a distance and I did get a long list of advisory items. The car was in the garage for almost an hour.

can this be used in conjunction with TOPCASHBACK of 5% and AA membership discount of 33%?
