Instructions:As it says Heathrow parking for £3.50 a day, free after 15 days (upto 42) Email also says 12 1/2% off at other airports.

Think this is good, I used to use my clubcard points but sadly thats ended.

Online or call 0845 450 0808 quoting "E27T".

The HUKD link does not work (I did not put an optional one in), here is the link from the email:

Thanks for the post, but the link isn't working.

I just added the link from the email to the first post, not sure why HUKD link is not working as I did not add the optional link so it should be using the sites default link?

Being a tightwad, I consider that as I pay road tax, then I am therefore entitled to park ANYWHERE for AS LONG as I like.

I therefore park my car carefully about two miles away from any airport and get a cab to the airport (About 5-7 Quid each way)

Far cheaper alternative.

Been doing this for about 15 years BTW.

Hope there aren't double yellow lines painted on the side...

Any chance you could share your road location near Heathrow, if you have one near Gatwick I need one for November.

I pulled the same stunt at Luton....the black cab driver that collected me outide the airport was unimpressed...a fare of about 4 quid! (two weeks parking for about eight quid). This is a good option if flying out of Luton, as the edge of the city isn't that far physically from the airport.

how do you get a local cab....give us more details....i'm a tightwad too

Don't remember the name of the road. I just drive there.

All I remember is that when you come to a sign saying Heathrow, bear to the left and turn into a road by a Petrol station.

Quite an upmarket road. Then walk back to Petrol station to use their phone for a cab. (O.k. - use a mobile these days, then.:))

Hope that helps.

Oh Yes - and NO messing about with shuttle buses. NO difficulty in finding your car and the cab drops you right outside the entrance and collects you from the same place too. And even carries your luggage for you.

& while we're on about being tightus waddus, remember when picking someone up at Heathrow, get them to come out of the airport at departures 'set down' area!

Ok, so you'll save a few quid, but more pleasure is taken from the fact you beat the system!

Tricker than you might expect as they're some viscious over zealous wardens patrol the set down area!

Hi
I would be grateful if you could tell me the name of the road you parked on in Luton when flying from Luton Airport as I am travelling from Luton on Tuesday. Also do you have the number for the local cab service you used?

Thank you.

I wasn't so well planned that I knew the road beforehand & never made a note for future use, but from memory, it was towards the top left of this map ...

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=510750&y=220750&z=2&sv=510750,220750&st=4&ar=N&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf

I think it was one one of the offshoot roads from crawley garden road (which is the main road running diagonally)....possibly Hart Lane. This was a 2-3 years ago, so there may even be restrictions there now.

Re Taxis...once again...not very well planned - we used a phone box for yellow pages & called a local cab company (the fare was about 4 quid!)

When we returned there were plenty of black cabs outsiude the airport!

If you want to go this route, I suggest you add an hour to get sorted!

Why dont you try that down my road near Gatwick we now have resident parking because of people like you!!! I have six coaches and i pay my road tax how would you like me to park them outside your house for 2 weeks while i go on holiday,

Yes, Lanzarote, you have a point. It's a matter of degree. You'd be welcome to park in our road for 2 weeks, and nobody would care. If 100 people did it, there would be chaos.

I have occasionally pulled this trick of parking near the airport, but I've always parked a few miles away. It's easier to find a space, and it causes no disruption, 'cos I'm the only one doing it in that particular road.

Did you not notice an airport nearby when you came to buy? :?

If I buy a house near a premier league football stadium, I enter into the purchase expecting traffic mayhem once or twice per week...but hey, the price is lower because of it. If I buy a house close to an airport, I expect a lot of noise & the odd tightwad wanting to avoid paying extortionate car park charges....did you not use this as a bargaining tool when you bought your place? Or do you want cheaper housing that being in close proximity brings *and* no traffic problems? Yeah...don't we all!

Six?! Sounds like you've having some reliabilty issues there?! In any case, presumably the other poster doesn't live near an airport so what would be the point?

Well different generations of family have been living in this property now for over 90 years so i guess i can comment,

The main problem we have is not with people parking outside my house which as you say is legal but with people parking where the schools are and people parking over the edges of the driveways restricting parking and visibilty. We have a very narrow road and recently had a fire at an old peoples home at the end of the street. The fire engine path was blocked by five cars of which the owners could not be found in the end the fireman just bounced the cars out of the way. As the vechicles where then causing a problem they where then removed to the police compound, all the vechicles where later collected by holiday makers.

A whole weekend of parking at Heathrow for under £10 (with quidco)! Dead chuffed with that!
