Isnt it incredible that whichever 'Offer' Laithwaites appear to have on with a 'wonderful' money off voucher, the price of the wine is ALWAYS the same!! £39.99......
4leafclover#2
Well I like the vouchers - they usually also give £25 off a case of wine!

is there a catch with this? i.e. am i committing to buying more wine from them in the future???

TBH I can't vouch for this company as I've nerver used them, I can't even vouch for the wine as I'm teetotal but got the voucher through the post and thought I would share.

If anybody has used this company before please comment on what they are like.

Cant say have ever had a bad bottle in their cases, it just winds me up when they issue vouchers (no matter what the amount) that miraculously reduces the case cost to just £39.99. I like to think I am getting a bargain, but there are better offers on out there (tesco wine last week).

Yes these deals are to get you into their 4seasons wine club but this initial case is usually a good deal. You get offered a case every 3 months I think, but you can e-mail them to say you want to skip a case, or drop out completely. I dropped out completely and use the vouchers now for £25 off a case.
I ended up putting the Tesco's wine club stuff in risottos (Although reduced, I don't believe they were ever really originally £8.99/bottle). So I I think its a personal preference as I wasn't too keen on some of the Virgin Wines either. Laithwaites just seem to just be more to my taste so these vouchers come in handy.

I ordered the mixed pack a couple of weeks ago. It works out at around £2.60 per bottle, you get some real good wines e.g. 2001 etc. A real bargain, just need to drop the guys an email saying you are not interested in any further orders!

Spot on!

I'm pretty sure that Laithwaites and the Sunday Times Wine Club are one and the same company. If so, their customer service/ delivery etc is regarded as the best there is for a mail order company.

This is a good deal and they have a no questions asked money back guarantee.

The only catch is that you're paying £39.99 for a case of wine that's worth around £39.99. That's not a criticism - just pointing out that a lot of wines being offered these days are reduced from silly 'original' prices which bear little relation to reality. The supermarkets do it all the time with their half price wine offers, and people think they're getting a bargain. That's life.

The wine cant be any worse than jacobs creek, so good value at that price.

I've never bought anything from them but have had one of their double bottles as a Christmas gift. This got delivered early December so they wrote a very nice letter to us and the giver apologising for the embarassment as it had come too early and giving us both another double bottle.

Their customer service is exemplary and the wine is very nice.

HTH.

I've also just done my first order with these using a similar deal but from laithwaites.co.uk/amex (after receiving a promo leaflet with my recent credit card statement).

It was better than the previous/current HSBC and Halifax deals as it includes a case of 12 reds/whites/mixed plus 3 free rioja reds (worth £23) PLUS a fancy lever-arch corkscrew worth £29 (which I saw in M&S last weekend on the shelves at £29). Had them delivered yesterday for a total of £47. Haven't opened the box yet but seems like a cracking deal to me.

My quidco (£11) has not tracked yet though.

Had to email Quidco for my £11 to track. Still not received it, quidco push it back each month should have been paid in Nov08, still "validated"

they say that if an offer looks too good to be true, it usually is .... I've just wasted over half an hour following up on a voucher valid until 31 May 2012 (dhk1a received from HSBC yesterday) for a GBP50 reduction on a 89.99 order only to find that the offer has expired ! was this a late April Fool Day joke ?
