Instructions:was mucking about with codes like morales was saying with glitches. well when i got the code 7167 it took off a reasonable discount off full price and nothing off the sale items...so i bought a dress that was 35.00 and got it for 21.33...now that discount is worth having! i think its roughly 40%
might work for someone else

But this code is probably only valid on the 3rd Wednesday of month excluding all Wednesdays... or something like that, they do love to shaft unwitting customers with unwritten terms and conditions IMHO.
#5
ive never had any probs with them
#6
I would never order anything from them again - just check the 10pounds off and the nonsense they've thrown at us on that. I'm returning everything back and disputing transactions with CC
#7
Code didnt work for me on full price items :(

They have been doing this for years. I used them 3 years ago and there service is awful. Took over 1 month to get a refund even then they said I had to provide proof of my card!
They are a bunch of money grabbing thieves!

me neither :-(

actually this code is £25.00 off £50.00. i have played around and that is what it works out at. would not work on anything under £50 with me.:?
#11
Be careful, I havent had a problem with them in the past but EVERYONE seems to be having a problem at the moment.

I think they are wising up about the codes and they may be stopped soon (and dont seem to work already)

The sister site verdabaudet have changed how the codes work and who they work for, so I think they are doing the same

I would avoid this scammer at all costs. I used a code, received an order confirmation and two weeks later they ignored the code and took the FULL amount from my account. Complained today to be told T&C's on use of these codes are in the "small print" on web site, when asked to point this "small print" out was then told it was on the literature sent to the original person who received the code! Am waiting for the "Internet Dept" to contact me in response to my emails, apparently customer services couldn't help. As a point of principal i.e. they took money from me which I didn't authorise, and have documented proof confirming original order, I'm taking it to Trading Standards. Only wish I'd read the comments on this company before - lesson learned.:-(

In their T&Cs regarding codes it clearly states:

Order Codes
Order Codes tell us which promotion or special offer you are entitled to claim with your order. The order code is for you personally, and remains the property of the company at all times. Unless specifically stated otherwise, order codes can only be used once and discounts are not valid on Mini Price items. If you place more than one order using the same order code, your first order only will be accepted. We reserve the right to take action to recover merchandise which has been delivered incorrectly by us following any abuse of order codes and/ or to adjust your account with us.

That's straight from the Terms & Conditions link at the bottom of the front page of their website. It's not as though they've hidden this information or anything.
You're claiming that they took money from you which you didn't authorise? I suspect you placed the order with them and submitted your payment details. That ought to be enough authorisation from you on their behalf to take the money.
Even with `documented proof` of the order, the reduced price on there would be taking into account the discount code you submitted yourself and which they `ignored`. The reason they ignored it would be because the order code was not `for you personally` (from their T&Cs), in which case abuse of it would result in them adjusting your account with them following the abuse of such order code (from their T&Cs). I don't think you have much of a case with them to be honest. The best you could probably hope for is a full refund if you return the items unopened to them, unless you can show that you did have entitlement to use the code.

This is a repeat of what happened a few years ago, at the moneysavingexpert forums. There was a huge list of codes which was made available and redoute got the lawyers involved. Needless to say La Redoute codes were banned (although they still appear over there).
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=859

Its when people start to take advantage of the codes placing order after order, which is denied by la redoute (rightfully so) and then kick up a fuss which ruins it for everyone.
I have been using la redoute for years and have never had a problem with them, becuase I don't try to take advantage of every single code that comes out.

Yup, I havent had a problem before and only ever do one order at a time. I dont blame them for charging people/cancelling orders when people do multiple orders with the same code

At the same time, I wonder why la redoute offer these codes in the first place? Doesnt make sense to me (the % ones ok, but £10 discount and free p+p with no minimum spend? They must know it will be abused)

Bugs me when a couple of greedy people ruin it for everyone else

I placed 1 order for socks (not sure what is classed as a mini priced item?) using the pay now option. According to LaRedoute they have no record of my order and that the email confirmation I had is automated so means nothing!

Just placed a new order (opened an account this time) for a pair of £35 trainers which werent on sale. Gor a similar confirmation (see below), but no account number or order number??? Is this normal, very frustrating.

Thank you for shopping with us

mini price items have 'mini price' near the name of the item, so you would know if the item you ordered was mini price

You will get another email later saying what they have charged you later on (right before they ship) if I remember correctly (if you selected the cc option). They will open an account for you and the number will be on your invoice (inside the parcel) and on a monthly statement.
Best thing to do is when it comes, open it in front of the driver and check the invoice - if its wrong note down the acc number and hand it back to the driver (its their job to pick up returns at any time, you normally ring their local number to do so).
La redoute are the slowest company I have dealt with in terms of delivery and such, so it might be a few weeks until they send you anything! Plus didnt the socsk go out of stock because of too many orders? Their ordering system is a mess, but once you have a customer number everything gets a lot easier.
#19
Well I placed the original socks order on the 24th April (one of the first few to order), but was told they have no order on their system for me today. Might have been better to get them to create an account for me on the fone. Then place orders after.

Dont mind waiting as long as they arrive before the end of the month.

All depends on whether they have stock, and on your courier. Mine is pretty quick but others are slow.

Check the invoice, if you havent been charged the correct amount then call them and explain the situation. You should have the £10 refunded, if not you can arrange a collection (free of charge, item will be refunded but not delivery charge)
#21
Well trainers are in stock anyway, so expect that will be a little quicker. Dont really care about the socks!

Expect it will be easier once I get an account number.

The LAW states that they can refuse to send the order but they are NOT allowed to charge what they like to make up the difference they feel they are losing with the misuse of codes.
This is an unlawful deduction from credit/debit card and constitutes as fraud.
If they want to claim fraudulent use of codes, they should be going through the correct channels and issuing legal warnings via solicitors/lawyers to these people to warn them that they will be claiming back the money they have lost out on.

When I called I was told that I entered my CC details and therefore authorised them to take whatever amount they wanted from my card!

Was outraged that this is what the customer service representives have been told!

Two weeks later I get a £5 discount code for this company but still no socks WTF is going on lol

Well my orders are tracking now (ordered twice by mistake :S) in my account at the discounted rate so all good.

07 May 2007 Not Charged 8271046 BLK/WHT SPORT SHOE 044 1 (25.00) will be delivered soon reduced price

Seems the best way to go round this is to open an account. Called them up and they advised for me to refuse delivery on 1 if 2 arrive, although she would try to cancel 1 order.

The other option is to refuse delivery when they arrive if you get charged the full amount.

They charge full price NOT what they like and a company's terms and condition is a legal and binding information. Here is a reminder of the helpful information supplied by PWOLF on the first page
