Did they have to do much work? I have my mot coming up and have abs light on (probably dirty sensor) and need tyres dont know if I would trust quickfit, cheapest tyres they could get for an ibiza I owned a few years ago were 90 each and that scared me off, some polish brand I have never heard off btw.

would rather use Dodgy Dave's Dodgy Car Repairshop than these

Been to Kwikfit twice for an MOT, both times I feel I was scammed and they did unnecessary work, to the extent that they called me once to tell me my MOT had passes, only to tell me when I arrived at the garage that they had found a slash in one of my tyres and has to replace it. Would not use them.

£20 offer is to get you in the door , they will soon get their money back ... I think kwikfit , halfords, are the last place you want to take your car. ..

if need tyres , try Asda tyres or black circle, I have a Lexus, can't remember the size , but they are def not small, Pirelli tyres, where less than £80 fitted ...

Give them a miss.....I go to 'Just MOTs'.....they don't do repairs so have no need to manufacture faults with the car.

Don't do it!
MOT at local Council depot.
It will be cheaper to go to a main dealer at least you will know the job has been done properly.

I think it's unfair to classify Halfrauds in with Thick Twit.

+1 for Just MOTs although I use their site company Just Motor Care and never had a problem in 5 years :)

Just a little tale

I once took my car to Dereham, Norfolk quick fit for an MOT, came back to collect to be told it needed £680 worth of repairs to pass, I said ok will come back, that is when the high pressure started, I was told my car is in bits out the back, not safe to drive etc, I kept insisting I wanted to go, waited nearly an hour for my car to be put back together.... took it to a garage 1 mile away, passed first time

Quelle surprise! almost all* these fast fit places do unnecessary work, they'll charge you for new bits they never fitted, charge you for nitrogen in tyres that you never asked for (hint, we breath 78% nitrogen! so it's not worth paying for an extra 22%) - Having been had over too many times I'll never use these b*stards or other similar chains

*(I know a terrible generalisation)

I think it is a bit hit and miss but on the whole wouldn't trust them. I've used them for MOT and the car sailed through, but also used another branch and had some very dodgy calls on "brake disc wear" that was left and never found again in following years.

Brake disc wear makes me smile, it's a damn great steel disc, a bit of surface pitting is like a pimple on an elephant's derrière.

Totally agree, my trusted local garage charges £35 for an mot. The extra is well worth it for the knowledge that they will only charge me for things that need doing and give me honest advice.

I would not leave my car with these cowboys

These Kwik Fit guys are wizards. A friend of mine had new brake pads put on and they managed to do the job without taking off the original wire ties that were holding the wheel trims on oO

yep been cheated by kwikfit in past. never again.

I have never had a problem with a Kwik Fit MOT (in Bletchley). My car is 12 years old (but not common), maybe it's branch dependent.

I had a free MOT with them once through my insurance. what an experience! Ended up having to contact their HQ to complain as they broke my rear view mirror unit that housed the sensors when they didn't even need to touch it and weren't going to fix it. Car was in a worse state after the MOT. I'll never go there again!

ecotyres.com or blackcircle the cheapest you can find on the Internet, I bought mine 235 40 18 r ( not a cheap tyre) for 40 quid each, landsail, a good brand, B wet grip B in consumption and 68 db noise...
