Instructions:I came across a website earlier that stated that Nikon are offering £60 cash back on the Nikon D40 & D40X range. I think it appies to cameras purchased on the 1st June until the end of July. With this hopefully a great deal can be had. Please help if you know more.

Just looked again and it is until the end of August 2007, the PDF flyer states click on this link for further info, however it isn't working, hopefully it will come online tomorrow

why? Isn't it just some useless extra pixels?

I just got my D40x kit with 18-55mm lens. £60 cashback started via the Nikon website above.

NOTE: If you want to get this deal it need to be UK stock from an approved dealer ie/ Dixons.

Dixons also do price match against any UK website. www.tekmo.co.uk currently have this kit reduced to £379.99. I got Dixons to match, so I could avail of the cashback offer.

Total after Cashback = £319.99!!!

I agree that the D40 is eqaully as good a camera, the extra pixels a can reduce the quality in some instances!!! If you want to know why go here >http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/mpmyth.htm

I wanted the 100iso, as the D40 lowest is 200iso.

p.s I am also getting the 55-200 AF-S DX VR from Amazon to complement the kit.

p.p.s. If you need a memory card the BEST place to go is play.com

I think the general opinion is if you need to price large pictures the D40X is probably the one to buy with it's extra pixel count. The D40 is apparently the model to buy if you require low noise jpeg images.
