Hey,
I live in Germany with my daughter and we had the "crazy" idea to go to Cornwall for two weeks.
"Crazy" since we don't have a car, nor a usable credit card, and not so much money. I've been looking a lot on the net and found some cheaper connections - but trouble, trouble.
Anyway, if I give in "summerfootpassenger" it always says the code isn't valid. (That's totally apart from that I can't pay it without a credit card) Do you think the code doesn't work in other countries than the U.K.? I wouldn't mind paying 10 or 15 p., but to pay 70, when they carry cars for that price I find ...Do you know if I can get a "reasonably" priced ticket at the check-in?

I know it sounds stupid. When you get off the ferry, how far is it to walk to the nearest supermarket please? Where is the cheapest car parking facility near Dover please? Anyone shed a light this way?

You can walk to the beach and supermarket takes about 5 -10 mins to the nearest smarket and 15 mins to the beach. Parking in in dover is eiter at the docks, via relyon who park further away or local car park and walk or near my house and the car park is free but a longer walk. most of the street in town have 2 hours max stay but the closest in the clarendon area ( Clarendon street or clarendon road ) they dont have any restrictions and are free have a look on google map to see how far .If you park there you can go down the hill to the train station and there is a bus that runs to the docks for about £1 each maybe £1.50 now. hope that helps have a good trip.

Wow, a bargain! If only I lived near the South East I would be getting a few of these. A day in France for £4 per person, can't even get into town and park for that!

Pity it would take be the best part of seven hours and god knows how much to get to Dover!

Great deal though!

I've been trying to get these all morning, just called p&o, they say the £2 fares have probably all gone as there were only limited places. I got a reduced rate of £28 for 4 this Thurs instead - includes BOGOF costa coffee voucher!

Seem to remember that you can only book 4 weeks in advance online, longer by phone. Anyone know P&O's phone number?

You can park outside the town, it'll probably take you about 20 minutes to walk to the terminal or if this offer applies to cyclists, take a bike, useful when you get to France

If I book a £2 day trip then can I "forget" to come back on the return trip. This way I can have a £2 single fare for going there and then try and get a cheap fare coming back. Will I be peanlised for this?

Yeah that's what I wanted to do but if you read the T&C's

Terms & Conditions
(vi) All bookings of Restricted Duration are only valid where the outward and return journeys are completed within the specified period of time, with the same vehicle and passengers and using the same operator. If you fail to travel on one part of your booking then we may charge you a supplement. That supplement will be the difference between the amount you have paid and the price for the standard single fare appropriate to the sailing used. This payment will be collected using the credit card details provided when paying for the original booking.
