#17

#18

so this is still unconfirmed as nobody has used it yet, when it is confirmed I'll mark it hot:thumbsup:
#19
user-specific like all paypal codes. if you want to test it find an eBay item with immediate payment required.

cold

this code doesnt work it must me user specific. just tried it on an ebay purchase of £27 and it said

"This Redemption Code cannot be used from your PayPal account."

hope this helps
#21
Don't actually have anything to buy on ebay currently but I have tried these paypal codes a few times in the past and worked like charm
#22
Doesn't work "This Redemption Code cannot be used from your PayPal account."
#23
Can't use it either :(
#24
This Redemption Code cannot be used from your PayPal account.

Message I got. Anyone got any ideas for how to work it? I've just gone and bought something but haven't yet paid.
#25
Well the smart answer is - wait till they send it to the email account you have registered with PayPal.

In reality it isn't going to work for you unless it has been sent to you. You either bite the bullet and pay full price or you back out of the sale - and take any neg that you are given as an NPB.
#26
From experience these codes have been changed to be user specific
#27
Paid for something yesterday that i won for £25.01 & a fiver off would have been nice!

But having said that, looks like it may not have worked anyway..
#28
Just buy something that needs " Immediate payment " on Ebay . You can enter the code there to see if it works on your account .
#29
They are not likely to give out a code for everyone to use that gives money off what someone else sells! Paypal would take about £1 per transaction of which not all is profit obviously so they're not likely to offer £5 back. Maybe to a few people who they think it will encourage to use it more in the future but not to everyone!!!

Or buy something from yourself for 1p + 24.99 p&p, ~£4 profit!
#31
OK, what am I missing here ??

Get to paypal, enter code and it says 'click on apply below'. But there's no apply button !!

And, yes it was for more than £25:00. Total was 27.67...
#32
Bummer. Code cannot be used from my account!
#33
These codes pop up from time to time, nearly always the same format SUMMER1 or whatever and never ever work - well, never for me anyway (last time I tried one, I bought something I could have gotten cheaper, but was counting on the code working to take the price down) :(
#34
Why is this voted hot if it is user specific. this should be freezing cold.:x
#35
When I used paypal codes a year ago, it all worked and definitely not user specific. Try not going to the paypal website and pay for your items. Try following the Pay link on the ebay item page and enter the code and see if it works.
#36
i tried this code and it said Not valid for this specific User
#37
Another false dawn 'This Redemption Code cannot be used from your PayPal account' just when I'd got my hopes up.

Hell will freeze over before Paypal give me anything

Welcome to hukd!

Sadly looks like it's not available to 99% of people! Unlikely to be tho when you work the maths out.

How can you do that ?

I would have thought the system wouldn't allow it or are you advocating another ID ?

Yeah, think you'd need 2 id's and 2 paypal accounts for it. Not that it'd work now as the code doesn't work but you could sell your partner for example something for £25 but he/she only pays £20 but you'd get about £24 of it. You could report the transaction as not complete to ebay too to get some fees back. Beware that paypal could lock your accounts and make it difficult to get the money back if they suspect anything!
