Instructions:This is a printable £3.50 off voucher that comes as part of the Daily Mail's Book Club offer to save £3.50 off the RRP on the book "Got You Back" by Jane Fallon.

However, several people have had success using these vouchers for money off their weekly shop in Asda and Waitrose without actually having to buy the book.

Simply click the 'Use Voucher' button, print off the voucher and hand it in when paying for your next shop at Asda or Waitrose.

I work at Sainsbury's and people often give vouchers to me on items they havn't bought, if they have been nice during the transaction, talking back to me etc. I would usually take them, but if not then I wouldn't accept it.

So be nice, there are some absolutely mardy ******s out there that don't even look at you when you serve them.

Thanks muffinhead :)

at my local asda they had covered up the voucher slots on the self service checkouts so you have to ask for help. That way the staff can check what you are putting in the slots to make sure you have bought the items that you need for the voucher. scum bags:)

but there policy was you dont have to buy the item that the voucher is for

I used them at till with no problems as under that policy there isnt really a reason not to accept them

Most chart books at Asda and Tesco are £3.70 or £3.80 something or other...does that mean that it's intended that you use this voucher to get the book for 20/30 pence? Even for that this is a hot deal.

I used one of these Daily Mail book vouchers at our local Tesco a couple of months ago.

The checkout lady simply said, "Let's try it", and when it scanned OK I got the money taken off my bill, no problem, even though I hadn't bought the book.

From what I can see, Tesco will often treat these vouchers the same as other 'money off'' coupons. They will be accepted even if you haven't bought the product.

As said previously, please be polite and courteous to the checkout staff. If I was faced with some ignorant, obnoxious customer, I wouldn't want to be helpful to them!

I work at waitrose and I feel really strange when they hand me vouchers for stuff they havnt bought. I feel like saying...wtf! but owell..... I wouldn't encourage this as I dont like taking the vouchers for stuff people havnt bought!
#12
So does this voucher actually work?
#13
Voucher doesn't work in Tesco's. Just tried it. And for that reason, I'M OUT!
#14
Wont bother trying it then.

I've amended the original post  ! Anyone tried it in Asda or Waitrose? I know the last voucher stopped working in Tesco but continued to work in Asda.

You also get some really s*** staff that dont talk back or are simply rude. You get paid to do a job so you should do it and not pick who you like and give extra discount. You are Discriminating.

What skin is it off your nose if they have not bought the item? Its not as if its costing you anything!
