Instructions:Thanks must go to 'One Eyed Snake' on Rpoints for finding this one.

This is a printable £4 off voucher that comes as part of the Daily Mail's Book Club offer to save £4 off the RRP on the book 'Engleby' by Sebastian Faulkes.

However, several people have had success using these vouchers for money off their weekly shop in Tescos and Asda without actually having to buy the book.

Simply click the 'Use Voucher' button, print off the voucher and hand it in when paying for your next shop at Tesco or Asda.

great find scanned a couple at tescos self scan yesterday £8 off my food shopping heat added
#6
Is there no limit to how many times you can scan then????????
#7
when the young lad is overlooking the self scan tills he will let through however many vouchers you care to pass through, the screen sometimes states 2approval needed" and a member of staff has to approve them but not had any problems
#8
I can confirm this works. Went to the self-service checkout (waited for the assistant to leave their post) Scanned my shopping and used the voucher. Immediately subtracted £4 off the total

There was a brief panic when approval needed flashed up on the screen, however the assistant just clicked the appropriate button on their terminal and walked away again.

Gonna try scanning 2 through tomorrow! ;)

in Tesco you put them in a voucher slot (on the self serve scanner).

Same used it fine. I cut voucher in half so they couldnt read the book bit. Just looks like a normal coupon and woman scanned it in without a thought. Great find!

Its not as if tesco dont make enough money!!!

Yeah I'm sure the odd £4 off won't harm Tesco's profits:

http://business.scotsman.com/retail/98000-a-minute-as-Tesco.3981237.jp

Since I posted this voucher three weeks ago Tesco's may have already made around £165 million gross profit, according to the figures in the above article.

I used it in Asda at the weekend on a self service till, I swiped the voucher it went through fine, £4 discount appeared on the screen, result I thought. Then the damn till started screaming really loudly "please insert coupon, please insert coupon" - it was only then that I noticed that they had stuck a label over the coupon slot saying "coupons not accepted at the self service tills".... gulp, all the time the till is shouting "please insert coupon" !!! After a minute the woman came round and cleared it, without a seconds thought. So it worked for me, made me go a bit red - but it worked all the same.

Oh well was good while it lasted! Guess nobody has tried it today out of curiosity?
