Thanks, prices can be a tad more expensive than retail outlets but they do offer the full 3 year warranty unlike most stores who offer just 1, also with this 25% it can make it just £30 or so extra for the full 3 year warranty which is not bad.

Ordered the 42" TV with 3 years warranty - not the best price but the warranty is something that I wanted - nice one - repped and voted hot!

Yeah :) The three year warranty is what makes it worth buying here. Thanks for this Towner and Welcome to HotUKDeals by the way ;-)

Hold your horses: 3 year warranty...

Not available on Affinity Sales.

Affinity only means if your buying the set from Comet, Dixons, Currys etc etc
As its from Sharp direct you get the 3 yr warranty.

Sorry, just read your Link to the webpage and what its saying is that if your buying through a company set up affinity, then you won't be eligible for the 3 yr warranty as supposedly you'll be enjoing a much better price anyway.

I think that Affinity is something that large employers can setup for their staff to buy from Sharp.

This promo code just comes up as "Special promotion for existing Sharp customers" so this should be OK I would guess.

Does this mean that Dixons AREN'T an Affinity seller, so you would get the 3 year warranty if bought through them?

No, forget about Dixons, Comet or anyone else that sells Sharp products as the contract & warranty would be with you and the seller.

What sharp are saying as that if Joe Public logs into sharp.co.uk & buys a set then they get the 3 year Warranty.

If I or any colleagues log in & get "special pricing" under the Affinity agreement then the extra warranty does not apply as is pointed out in big text.

Seems quite fare to me as at least it is well pointed out.

At the very least, the initial 12 months of the warranty is covered by the manufacturer, with the retailer being first point of contact. Sharp state on the site that ALL products are covered by 12 months warranty, as per statutory rights, and ALL LCD Telecvisions are covered by 3 years, except for AFFINITY sales. If you then click on 'Affinity' for a definition it says nothing about high street retailers, only the company affinity programme.

Anyway, I'll find out tomorrow when my LC42XD1E arrives :)

Sharp Affinity Programme for employers
Through our popular Affinity Programme, many employers already offer their staff access to great deals on Sharp products. If you are an employer with more than 250 staff, why not drop us an email to enquire about the possibility of setting up a programme for your staff? Bargain Hunter when did you order your set?

Just looking at placing an order but even at the payment page it does not say how long for delivery!

I ordered mine from Dixons last week on the £998 Egg/Quidco deal. I can see it's only got the 12 month warranty now. My current Aquos set which is nearly 3 years old now has been great with no problems, so hopefully this one will be too:thumbsup:

I ordered mine from the sharp website - they say that they call you within 3 days to arrange delivery by special 2 man crew! BTW, haven't heard from them today.

Ordered yesterday, was called today to say it will be delivered Monday by Target.

Delivered this morning instead of Monday as delivery driver said he was in the area and thought he would try to save me waiting in on Monday.

They never did and I never got any invoice/receipt etc. from Sharp.

TV was returned due to dodgy pixels, banding and buzzing.

Took me till 28th March to get a refund after dozens of phone calls so beware.
