Venture are in business to make money, therefore, signing over copyright means that they would make no further sales on reprints etc.

Yes, it's expensive but you don't have to go there! There are many cheaper places where you may or may not get the same quality.

Youre quite right. The quality is superb, and you can go elsewhere, but this service isnt aimed at your average consumer, its aimed at the very top end of the market, people with a lot of money to spend.

I would say to everyone, only go for it if youre happy to sit through the presentation and say "no" to buying anything. Or only go if your completely loaded. I just spoke to my friend, and she said her biggest sale was one old lady who spent just under £19k in one presentation buying prints for her family. I wish she was my old Aunty!!
We got one of these vouchers for a discounted print - the pictures they took were stunning ! We've had portraits done at a studio before, but this was completely different. Nothing was really posed, the kids just played and the photographer steered the shoot very subtly.

When we went to view we were aware of the prices, and had decided to just get one of their printed cushions alongside the discounted print. We found the presentation and the sales pitch were a bit heavy though; they "weren't allowed" to sell us just one cushion without buying other prints too, and I think the cheapest framed print was £200 - they wouldn't sell unframed prints. We did find they were open to some haggling on the prices, so that's always worth a shot.

Great pictures but very expensive !
Sorry, didn't realise you couldn't reprint - in fact it was the guy at the sales marketing thing last time I went who mentioned it to me... but he wasn't a photographer, was just trying to get me to buy more prints. I thought as long as you weren't selling it you could make copies of it for personal use, you paid for it after all.. but obviously I apologise, didn't mean to encourage anyone to do anything against the law.
My wife got us this deal last Xmas, so we did the shoot, and went to the presentation with a firm agreement that we would just take the free picture..............we left with 3 pictures that cost us just over £1k!!!

They are very well done though, spread 0% over 10 months isn't too bad, and everyone that visits the house loves them. They will last years and always bring a smile to our faces.

Yep, legally its not allowed, its wrong in the eyes of the law, but for £150 shouldnt you really own the copyright too? - its a bit of a con otherwise isnt it?
