its £3.50 during the day at the lord louis in plymouth and its crap , all frozen veg , deep fried frozen roast potatoes and roast beef what is like leather ! your £3.50 would be better spent on a big mac meal

Well the wife and I went yesterday in the Morley branch and it was probably one of the best roasts we've ever had. The veg and potatoes were so good I went for more. The restaurant was full too, so I don't think it's just us who like it.

mr rumblies - I really think you could do with an id change - looking at 14 of your 17 posts I suggest that mr misery guts, mr abusive (any name along those lines) would suit you better!

The Toby Carvery near Billingham is Scrumptious, The meat is incredibly tender, the turkey in particular. The veg all looks and tastes fresh and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I can and do highly recommend it to my friends, and now you guys/gals.

Only problem I have is you can't book, you just have to go and sometimes there is a bit of a wait. But on saying that, myself, my hubs and our four kids (ranging from 14 to 3) have never had any problems when waiting, the bar/lounge area is spacious and has a friendly atmosphere.

hey hey gary_rip

I think I may take offence (and possibly the gate post)

<------ woman , and I am a nice person, wheelie I am :)

Jerry

Carry on, I say. Sounds like mr & mrs rumblies deserve each other. I'm sure we've all been to restaurants and seen couples hardly talking except when they're moaning. I would've loved to have been at the lord louie that day, could've flicked some peas at them from across the pub.
#12
another stiff !
#13
who you calling a stiff?
#14
i'll stiff you in a minute

btw, am i talking to mr or mrs r now?

Well i see we have a couple of arrogant male pigs ! All i said was the quality of my local toby was poor , then you get a couple of stiff males with their heads up their asses trying to slag me off . Im sure that the tobys in other places may be good but mine is poor , so you guys wind ur necks in and go and get some broken glass to chew on , may turn out to be nice for you !:-D Actually , maybe you two guys are a couple , no doubt i could send you some of my clothes to wear to impress eachother
#18
Can everyone stop getting stiffy's!
[admin]#19
Time to calm down! I think everyone must have been to a Toby Carvery sometime in their life and know roughly what the quality is like so I don't think the name calling is needed!!

haha, is that talking from experience?

I had a mixed grill at my local harvester on sunday and the sossidge was anything but stiff...

In all my years I've never been called arrogant or stiff, good grief. Strange how people can be such a good judge of character on a board where there's no reason for us all not to love each other.
#23
As long as this love doesn't involve the sausages u keep talking about then I'm in! :giggle:

All the MSE's seem to have flooded over... great.

I have been 3 times in the past month or so and each time it has been a decent meal but also very good value. Someone had a bad experience, its not the end of the world. You can't please everyone...

Substitute 17 for 23 and mr for mrs (or ms) as appropriate:roll:

I just dont like being slated , my husband said to look on here , so thats what i did , the thing i was shocked with was the idiot who started the abuse ! Maybe hes a lonely old freak , never had a woman and uses dating agencies to get females and take them to his local toby .
#27
i do apologise administrator , please check the posts , jerry started the abuse for no reason . many thanks

Let's just end it here ok?
#29
ok, it was a worthwhile offer to post, but not to everyone's taste. At least we've all had a smile discussing it - just stags rutting, I don't think anyone took anything personally.

Back to the food. The one in Portsmouth is very good. If your there before 6 or 6.30pm you maybe better off not using the voucher, because I think its the same price but you can have a large "mr Whippy" type ice cream for a pound. Voted hot
#32
Many thanks - seem like a great deal - have voted hot

Look out for the Taverners carvery pubs.

£3.99 monday to saturday
£5.99 on sunday

This is all day ( with a choice of 3 meats).
One opened in Mansfield just before christmas and is getting very popular . Its not surprising at those prices though.

Just spoke to Lord Louis, he's had dealings with the Rumblies before. I'll say no more!
