They went into administration but...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/4028418/USC-in-administration-Sir-Tom-Hunter-buys-43-stores.html
After USC collapsed, in a controversial move, Sir Tom's investment vehicle West Coast Capital bought 43 of the shops out of administration.
The so-called "pre-pack" administration allowed 1,127 staff to keep their jobs. Fifteen of the stores, employing 300 staff, remain in administration. Those employees, half of whom work part-time, will lose their jobs if no buyer can be found. The pre-pack is likely to provoke anger among USC's suppliers and landlords, many of whom could be left with unpaid bills. West Coast Capital partner Jim McMahon said the pre-pack had allowed USC to continue to operate despite difficult trading conditions on the high street.
"The survival of the core business could only be secured through this deal. Ultimately we had to ask ourselves what's better, the loss of 15 stores or all 58? The answer was unequivocal."
West Coast acquired the 43 USC stores via a new company called Dundonald Holdings Limited. A source close to the retailer said: "The chain had been trading badly for some time and had become untenable in the wake of the downturn. Drastic action was needed."

So hopefully it'll be fine! Maybe order on your credit card juuuust in case.

Wonder what the postage is? maybe this covers that, but better than a kick up the ...proverbial!! :)

the one at Romford has already closed with a note in the window saying - in administration

The company is back in the sound hands of Tom Hunter. They`ll survive. Like most companies weathering the recession they`ve had a look at the unprofitable aspects of the organisation and did some tinkering.
I was in the Glasgow store today and they were selling quality clothing at realistic prices.
Given good steerage from "Sir" Tom, they`ll pull through.

We ordered at the time when USC went into administration, though panic set in when their email and phone contacts seem to be unresponsive all was delivered, The delay that we received was due to them changing Delivery company.

Overall pleased though will only use Credit card next time ..Just in case!!
