Can I buy more than one book with this voucher or do you need a separate voucher for each book you buy?

I believe that a book has to cost at least £10 not a combined value ie 2 books at £5, plus only for one item per transaction. Just print a couple of the pages off and go to the till twice. You can also get away with using the 20% voucher too but that depends on the shop assistant and order of voucher entry.

The link to that voucher, which expires 31/st Oct is http://marketing.whsmith.co.uk/images/149/67059DL2a1810_voucher.pdf
