How Asda Imported Black Friday
Black Friday is an American concept. It's the day Christmas Shopping officially begins, and to celebrate, large retailers offer massive savings and price slashes across their products. In the US, supermarket chain Wal-Mart, Asda's parent company, have long been a forerunner of Black Friday madness. When the company brought the idea across the pond in 2013 with 'Walmart's Black Friday by Asda', this landmark promotion helped kick-start the concept across the UK.
Ever since, Asda has offered the biggest and most incredible Black Friday deals in the UK. Each year the store sells thousands of televisions at cut down prices as well as other electronics such as games consoles, gadgets, cameras, tablets and even quad bikes from famous brands like PlayStation 4, Samsung, Canon or Sony.
Asda announced its promotions online the day before the event through the dedicated Asda Black Friday page on the store's main website at www.asda.com. You can also keep up to date with all the Black Friday news through Asda's main social media pages on Facebook and Twitter. Each UK ASDA store may differ slightly with their promotions, and a good way to find out the latest deals and stock levels is by visiting your local ASDA on the day.
Last year, Asda chose not to take part in the shopping event, but 2016 is a new chance to grab some bargains.
