Getting Ready for Black Friday 2018
Using the name Black Friday for this massive sale started in the United States. Tradition has it that the fourth Friday in November is the point during the retail year when businesses start turning a profit, and their accounts tip into the black – this year the shopping event is taking place on November 23rd 2018. It is an important event in the calendar as it gives a kick-start to the Christmas retail period in a normally quiet point of the year, sandwiched between Summer sales in the UK, or Thanksgiving in the USA, and Christmas shopping. Following recent Black Friday's, DIY specialist Wickes will be lining up some exceptionally strong bargains and flash sales for the upcoming event.
Wickes Black Friday: Bargain Hunting
When it opened its doors in the 1950s Wickes UK was a novel concept, a traditional DIY store model that sold to the trade, and to savvy home improvers. For the first time every item needed to build, or renovate, fit out and decorate properties was available under one roof. Wickes keeps costs down by mainly retailing its own brand products, but since the 1990s, it has stocked ranges from trusted partners, such as Bosch, Karcher, Flymo and Makita.
During last year's Black Friday event, a variety of Wickes items were reduced up to 50% including power tools, fires and products from the brand Karcher. To make sure you don't miss out on Wickes' this year's offers, follow the company on Facebook and Twitter, or for great DIY ideas and community news watch Wickes on YouTube. Deliveries from Wickes are free when you spend over £50 and you can return any item within 14 days after your purchase.
