Kids Pass - Scam Artists?

Posted 13th Jul 2017Available: National
Signed up to a £1 30 day trial of Kids Pass at the end of May. Used it once, then decided it was not worth the yearly fee, so decided to cancel.

Went onto their website and was surprised to find that the only ways to cancel were by phone or by post. Didn't fancy hanging round on the phone for ages being given the hard sell, so decided to post a letter (not recorded stupidly).

lol and behold, I noticed I've been charged £40 this morning, and when I contacted Kids Pass they "never receive" my letter, and have flat out refused to refund me.

Any other members been caught out like this? Did anybody have any luck with a refund?

Looking on the internet, it seems this is par for the course with these cowboys.

If you asked most people in this day and age what would be easier and cheaper to do make a phone call or post a letter... I don't know how you come to the conclusion that posting a letter would've been the best solution.

It's a CPA payment. Already been on to the Credit Card company. They said I'm at Kids Pass' mercy.

It's definitely a case of that. I did ring them and that's exactly what they said. Feel like I've had my pants well and truly pulled down.

I had something similar with Experian years ago I kept emailing and phoning them and they done it in the end. I learned my lesson but I wasn't going to let it go so easily. You can keep trying and escalating it, try twitter if they are on it

I have just had the exact same thing happen to me. I cancelled within hoours of the £1.00 for the month trial and without warning they still took out a years subscription from my bank!!

I totally regret the £1 trail I signed up for, I’m hoping I can help other people avoid this scam company and their auto-renew trap. Please don’t think not me, I’ll figure out how to cancel. The app doesn’t have this function, you won’t even know they have a website, the phone number won’t be answered and the email just repeatedly reply telling you auto-renew is their policy and you need to cancel but they won’t accept your cancellation. You will really want to cancel because the savings are sparse and not worth the fees. They refused to refund me. Please avoid my situation if you can, I had to raise a dispute with my bank, I’ve had no money back but they aren’t allowed to charge me anymore.
