Just don't book at the end of term as the town will be full of sixteen years old school leavers on their first holiday without mummy and daddy!

Rooms are tired and dated, needs updating and there is a charge of £5 per day for parking!
On a whole when we stayed there I was very disappointed!

When I stayed here a few years ago, you could take the lift down from reception, walk through the cave and directly out onto the beach! Not sure if they do this any more though, it scared the hell out of me doing it years ago with all the creaks and groans the lift was making!

I was born and bred in Newquay. Now moved away, thank goodness. The place is just not what it used to be. Sure, it's becoming a bit more family orientated as opposed to the 'ibiza, magaluf' style rep it's been getting, but it's busy, crowded, and really not that pleasant to walk through the town. It has its quirks still, such as the infamous beaches which I would argue are the best in the UK if not most of Europe, but don't expect a luxury getaway. I love the place, but it just was not what it used to be 10 years ago. (edited)
