Is it worth upgrading my Msi 980ti for this card?

No, that would not be an upgrade.

The chance of the £105 RX580 being delivered is small. It's not impossible but it's not very likely either.

    1) The price is crazy low, particularly because of the type of product. It's obviously a mis-price.

    2) Stock is non-existent everywhere and demand is very high. These cards are selling way above RRP in the marketplace, which of course you know. Why would Amazon be selling them hugely below that?

    3) Being a "pre-order price" is no guarantee. If anything the delay in fulfilment gives Amazon more time to cancel orders, which is probably why they're not panic-cancelling.

    4) Amazon customer services reps do not have in depth knowledge of products and their status, they only know what is on the system. The product may be due in at some point, but that doesn't mean the order can't be cancelled before then. (edited)

pretty good, but still not as good as the SAPPHIRE Pulse Radeon RX 580 8G for £102 they had the other day. About the same chance of getting it either way. Pre-ordered anyway.

Still don't fully understand why these cards are in such short supply even now though? I know miners have been buying them up but why don't the manufacturers up production to match? Can't be all that hard to produce since they are essentially rebadged RX480s. Seems stupid to me when they are in the business of selling them, yet they seem to have no interest in producing more of what is obviously an extremely popular and in demand item, they must be leaving tonnes of money on the table for eBay / Amazon resellers.

Come to think of it, they should go work at Nintendo (NES Mini fiasco)....

No that was pulse card, and now stuck not available due to pricing error

I must've happened to order both by accident then. I couldn't see easily from my past orders but they look similar in the photos. Still not holding my breath.

i have some of them cards coming via friends to build a mining rig.
The pulse one. was £238 and then went silly down in price. I called amazon and was told cant pre order any more and the price is right BUT you cant get the card to NOVEMBER!

    quote from live chat

Amit: I will be true with you, the reason, you are not able to order a new card is because it is out of stock. This product will be available in the month of November. That's the reason, you have been not charged for it,as Amazon charges the order, when it's ships. The amount that will be charged for it is GBP 102.50, as we have waived the shipping charges for it.

YES i hope i get all 6 ordered, thats £650 for 6 cards, when on pre order was £1400 . i dont mine waiting in a way but eth is up at presentmy start [Image]

These amazon pre orders seem like ghost chase. I have not cancelled my order yet in case they are crazy enough to send it out at that price. It's RRP in US is over twice that.

I do think AMD will still be making these cards. Question of stock and supplying their main stockists so stock lasts more than 1-2 hours.

Good luck finding 6 x 8gb gpus for anything less than 300 each. That is if they are in stock. It's a gamble to mine but I have built a cheap 4 gpu rig but only have two cards at the moment. As I said I am still waiting for the two other 570 4gb cards to show from amazon. I plan on mining eth and hopefully see the return in a few years. Me too.
3rd card Amazon has messed me about on.

I’m a fully paid up member of the misprice lottery. I’m also fully versed on in it to win it but knowing I might not.

However I’m pretty cheesed they took 2 weeks to acknowledge this.

it takes about 3 to 4 months to produce a chip from start to end .. plusif you want to increase production you have to fight for it .

Still don't know why they aren't pushing harder though, some of them are big companies that surely must have some clout in their field. The fact is they have a hot property with the RX580, yet they just let it languish out of stock for months on end. Crappy way to treat their (and potential) customers IMHO...

Well I guess I'm in on this pre-order too then as I doubt they'll deliver on the Pulse for £102.50 that ive had on pre-order since Aug 16th! This Nitro+ has a better cooling solution than the Pulse as well as a higher clock speed but realistically there's probably only a couple of FPS in it.

As I've said before, I don't understand Amazon's strategy "selling" these cards. They get thousands of people pre-ordering just for them to sit and wait with no communication whatsoever. That doesn't strike me as good business practice but hey, I'm no expert, but I think it reflects badly on both parties (Amazon & AMD)

I might be wrong but i think they are sought after due to being the cards that come with the Apple Developer eGPU kit, so will be natively support by MAC OS High Sierra, after watching some youtube videos, if purchased with the correct case (wait until the higher voltage case is released this month, as that will allow you to charge a macbook at the same time).

    My theory is this
Since miners are hoovering up all the cards and lower end cards are getting less and less profitable, they are becoming less desirable and even possibly selling like the 4gb cards.
Also AMD want to push Vega cards so it doesn't look like much incentive for AMD to make such a effort for 4/5 series cards.
    Again.. just guessing

Vega cards are over twice as expensive as this, people in the market for a 580/1060 aren't gonna shell out that much more. Vega release has been an absolute hash, with AIB cards supposedly not coming until November now.

If you have a 470, there's not a big upgrade in getting a 480/580 - you need at least vega 56 / geforce 1070, and their prices are still quite inflated.

I do not think AMD would be that stupid and failed to realise that keeping the gaming market dissatisfied for a long is going to cost them dearly. AMD is not selling graphic chips only , but also motherboard chipsets, cpu and other modules that are directly linked to the computer industry.

'Miners' are highly volatile customers as once the bubble is over there will be suddenly ZERO demand . At the same time, disgruntled gamers will seek other options (consoles ? ) and the AMD - neglected partners (such as motherboard manufacturers) will try to team up with competition, switch to other markets or shut down their businesses.

Miners do not buy AMD cpus or motherboards with their chipsests, they also won't buy that many hdd, sdds, monitors, cases, psus, memory chips etc. as the gamers do. The entire industry suffer because of this unexplained (well ,maybe speculators can give some explanations) craze. (edited)

I have had two 570 on order with amazon for three months. No sign of them yet which really disappointing from amazon. If you do get the cards at the steal price then fair play. I have a mining rig with a 570 and a 480 running at around 50 MHs. Etherium is up and down at the moment.
