Nights journey of dreams for example can be done in about 4 or 3 hours including cutscenes and about 2 hours if that skipping them.Thomas was alone is another one you can nip thru very fast if you skip the enitre point of the game

Yeah, why anyone want to compile a list like this is beyond me

It was 2 hours 23 minutes with me getting rather lost in the middle.I agree with your point though, overall times don't mean much. You could add lots of VR games to your list OP. I mostly play short games, so my list would be long, but I'm not quite sure what purpose this serves. Surely it will just end up being a lost of indie games with time estimates? I think Segata has a point, if you play a game to time it ruins it. And it will likely never be 100%ed.The thing that makes these games interesting to me is not the length, but the fact they are different. More imaginative.Edit: wrong name.

It's a while since I went through it. I seem to remember it being about three and a half, that said, I was only missing 2 urns so, i maybe went a bit further with my exploring than most.

Some of these times are off a bit. 'Abzu', while you could possibly do it in 2.5 is easily closer to 4 first time through. Same with 'Virginia' if you do any exploring at all. Your first run through 'Outlast' would probably see you hiding for 5 hours and 'Nights' is notorious for wasting player time by not telling them what to do next.

Exactly how long a game takes to complete is entirely up to you really, god i must have put in at least 500 hours on BOTW now, still missing a korok seed

The last three Vita games I've finished have all been round about the two hour mark - 36 Fragments of Midnight, Twin Robots and Semispheres

I would say its more to do the with sorry state of them, most are by the numbers affairs created to follow trends, or they are created by film director wannabes. There's not that many big games out created by people who actually seem to want to make games, its pretty much just Nintendo.

A good game is enjoyable from start to finish how ever long that maybe.

The problem with HLTB is it doesn't differentiate for replays, and that brings the median down. I mentioned above I perhaps went a bit further than most with my exploration on Abzu.

Really they could do with a "First play" category, but in general I find 'Main + Extra' to be a bit more realistic for a first go through.
