Real Prosecco is very 'fashionable' with the chavvy classes but it's just wine of doubtful quality which has been pumped full of CO2 to make it palatable. Cava, on the other hand, is made the same way as Champagne (bubbles from natural secondary fermentation) and is actually cheaper! Has more taste too.

Still, I guess it's like the lager (Prosecco) vs real ale (Cava) debate. (edited)

    It’s currently £3.50 per bottle in M&S = £21 for 6

    That’s Buck’s Fizz not prosecco

I got 6 bottles of their Taste the difference Prosecco from Sainsburys using £20 of nectar points which they converted to £40 in an offer running until tomorrow. Go to customer services and they will sort you our, sorry cannot remember what the deal is called.

They are doing the Progrigio as in the picture and also the usual yellow labelled Prosecco for the same price in Scotland. As they cannot do the bulk discount deals they are charging £4.17 a bottle for either. Bought 12 bottles this morning

Prosecco is 6 bottles for 25 quid. Not progrigio although this is also. 6 for 25. The prosecco is normally 6 quid then roll back to 5. Now 25 for 6. Bargain to be honest. Iv bought 2 boxes 715am this morning

Uh, Prosecco isn't artificially carbonated. The difference between Prosecco and Cava/Champagne is that Prosecco's secondary fermentation is in pressurised tanks, rather than the bottle.

    It shows £5 each so 6 x 5 is £30, not 6 for £25

There are some wines and progrigio in the offer now
  20. voyager7's avatar
The picture of the deal is Progrigio, which is sparkling Pino Grigio, not Prosecco!

Here you go. It states it’s £22.50 online. But my local M&S (Durham) is selling it at £3.50 per bottle OR there’s an alternative one that is only £3 per bottle. Not sure if this is a global offer though - you’d have to check in-store.

Ah, OK. Knew it wasn't 'methode champenoise', had been misinformed about what they do instead. I'll stick by the rest of my post though.

Strange, bought this sunday and did it on self checkout, had an issue and the worker swiped their card and fixed it. Then I accidently pressed coupon, think I got staff discount xD Another £2.78 off! Bargain.
