I had a fantastic deal with virgin for 50 mg broadband, basic TV and phone line with evening and weekend calls for £20 per month. deal was coming to an end and was going to more than double. spoke to retentions and they offered only £33 per month, but found a better deal with BT. placed an order to move my virgin number to BT and 2 days later received a call offering 100mg broadband, the newest box so you can watch it remotely, phone line with weekend calls and would be £21 per month. declined and he further offered free months line rental and £12 credit which reduces it to £20 per month.
This is the first time I have posted so apologies if anything has been done incorrectly.

Just called to find out when my contract is due to end. Been told it ended in April! Got through to retentions, wanted me to pay £35 for the same above deal. Was paying £44. Told them to cancel. Will move elsewhere. Poor loyality for someone whose been with them for many years.

    UPDATE:

I signed up to a new provider and asked the new provider I would like to take my number with me. It was the day after this that VM rang me. I got 100meg internet and phone line for £28 a month for a 12 month contract. But they gave me 2 months free (£56 credit). Works out to £23.45 a month. Not as good as the OP deal. Also sent me out a new VM 3 box. (edited)

Leave them and join as new customer if retentions don't reduce the price. And get cashback

I wouldn't pay a penny in business to Virgin companies (yes I know they're not all the same ownership) after they today stole £2m off the NHS, enough to pay for 40 nurses!! (edited)

I phone a few days ago and they said they got nothing on offer, didn’t want to cancel and go through the hassle of phoning back etc maybe I need to do this for a better offer :/ need to stop being lazy

Very poor customer service, and expense.

They promissed to relocate my router free off charge as im a new customer as its in a black spot, they relocated it and charged me £99.00. I complained and get told there are no notes on the system to say it would be free !!!
Be very careful with this company !!!!

Best bet is to initiate a move to BT. Got my bill down to £23 a month for 200mb and phone line. My actual bill is only £17 as I had a £6 loyalty bonus they seem to have forgotten about!

Is it simply a case of calling them and putting it in the wifes details? Is there a waiting period before I can sign her up as anew customer? Thanks in advance.

It means signing up to a new contract. Best way is using Quidco and finding a uSwitch deal.

This is why I havent upgraded to a Superhub 3 from the 2nd gen. I use it a decent router, but the superhub 2 works fine in modem mode.

m8 it's not about the speed, VM is great in that department, it's about latency andping spikes and that what matters if you are a gamer. check quality of your connction on thinkbroadband.com

I lect Virgin for BT. Got good deals every year except this year so moved to BT.

Only issue was I paid a month in advance for getting a £45 refund took 45 days to come by cheque.

Why is this deal hot, when its a person specific. Doesn't benefit anyone. Yes we know we need to haggle.

I also phoned the other night to find out when my contract was up. It ended in June. I told the guy it was a joke that I was not informed when it ended. He only offered me a £7 saving to sign up for 12 months to £52. Ridiculous amount of money.
I like virgin. Never had a problem but I want a better deal!

I have been annoyed with virgin. I have wasted 3 hours in past 2 days sorting out mistakes they have done.

Then today I see my broadband bill for 75 pounds as my discounted ended. So I called up and said I want to cancel he was being very demanding for me not to cancel. He knew past 5 years I was getting the best deals.

The deal which expired was 200mb full house tv package and phone weekend free for £30 pound a month.

Get this if I wanted to keep this same package it would cost £45 pounds.

I said no. He was not offering anything good and I was very pissed of with virgin mobile in the morning.

I finally manage to get a deal which was crap but looking now. I don't think no one can offer me 100mb.

I downscaled and got 100mb standard tv and phone for £35 pounds. I said know 3 times and then he said he will give me 50 pound credit on top. Which he messed up and lost 12 pounds on that. I did not want to call them again to sort that out.

I also see £30 pounds for above package on site but must be new customers.

I get that, but was just trying to let people know, sometimes the threat of leaving isn't good enough to reduce the bills. had to actually place the order with |BT to move my number away from Virgin before they did anything to reduce it further. more of advice/tip than anything. just thought it might help someone else struggling to reduce bills around this time of year

They would not give me the new box so I might call again and cancel as it would be nice for new box but I really can't be asked

Yes, as soon as I advised them that I had signed up with 02 and would be taking the number , I got a call the next day.
I accepted weekend calls, inclusive phone line rental, 100mbs unlimited broadband, new V6 box and player TV bundle for 12 months with no price increases at £21 a month .
Less than my current package but acceptable to me for my requirements. (edited)

Current package: BB (50) only £18/mth
The best I could get was either:
    (a) BB only £25
    (b) BB (100) + Mix Bundle (don't watch much TV anyway) + landline (do not use it) + 6mths Netflix £28
    (it works out 12x28 = £336 - 6x7.99 = £47.94 : total £288.06/12 = £24/mth
Therefore I took deal (b). v6 box will be sent out for install...

100mg for £21/pm?....Expensive in my opinion if you are paying £210/kg

We are on disconnection for the 14th. No call back yet. And they could only offer £32 for 50mb and £37 for 100mb which is the basic deal.

we can’t get any other fibre optics in our area and they must know it.

Has anyone ever cancelled and rejoined as a spouse
