We all know about X-Bolt EDT - been in stores for a few years now and a great copy of Boss Bottled, if you're on a budget. Here's another option.

Saw this in Jamaica Street, Glasgow earlier. Can't find much English feedback about this, but, a review in German here, halfway down the page smell-a-likes.com/bra…idl
"1 million by Paco Rabanne is one of the most popular perfumes in Germany. This fragrance smells very intense, woody and oriental distinctively sweet.
As far as the description of the original. On average, this noble and popular fragrance costs about 50 € per 50 ml.
Time to introduce a similar and economical alternative: Gibellini No.1 for Men. Where is this fragrance?
In the discounter Lidl!"
2847063.jpg2847063.jpgAromas: woody, spicyNotes
Upper:orange, mint, grapefruit
Heart:
patchouli, rose, cinnamon
Base:amber, leather, wood

1 Million by Paco Rabanne also had the honour of being called The Worst Fragrance Of All Time 2017 by Fragrantica members (just saw it on my Facebook newsfeed this morning!) fragrantica.com/awa…ime

On parfumo dot net parfumo.net/Per…i_1 and Basenotes basenotes.net/ID2…tml but no comments so far.

Released in the Netherlands March 2016, I'm guessing from this press release lidl-press.prezly.com/s/8…56 "With the launch of a new own men's perfume 'G Bellini n°1' Lidl again challenges the established perfume brands. This delicious men's fragrance in the Lidl range surprises with a sophisticated combination of sweet and spicy notes. The particularly intense palette ensures a long lasting seductive fragrance with a deep layering."

I'm assuming this scent has just hit UK shores and was German/Euro stores only at first, but I may be wrong.

I had a spritz about 90 minutes ago, still lingering and I'd say it's a good dupe for 1 Million.

As this is sort-of Beauty related (and I was trying to find this scent on the Lidl website), here's some Beauty gadgets in store on Thursday, 7th December: lidl.co.uk/en/…k=2

I bought a bottle today. Smells great. I tried a tester bottle kindly opened by a gentleman that was the spitting image of myself. Two hours later still holding its own. Need to return to buy a couple more for christmas

Why's this a ' deal' ? Been out ages and at this price too 🤔

It's not really, it's a FYI - but worth knowing for those who want to put it in stockings, or just wear it as an everyday scent X-Bolt is often on offer at £1.99 and I'm sure No1 will follow suit soon

As for how long No1 has been in stores, I haven't seen them in my Glasgow stores till now. (edited)

Bought this a couple of weeks ago and very impressed. Great quality for the price. Use it as my 'going to work' smelly during the week, thereby saving the big guns for the weekend.

Certainly will give this a try if my local has it in. Another One Million similar is Original Penguin which you can normally pickup the lovely 100ml gift set for around a £20 or less along with a free laptop case, which the last time lasted myself 2 years as a daily case. Nicely presented also.
Link to set this is the reserve version but is the set you normally get with the free case, always comes around thefragranceshop every few months. (edited)

Funnily enough, I was just reading about these two called Chalou, also in Lidl but I've never seen these in UK stores (this is an Italian review). translate.google.co.uk/tra…ext
"The dupe of J'ADORE of Dior is instead Chalou orange-brown packaging (others call it Chalou Gold) I tried in store the fragrance Chalou blue-light blue and at first I did not like it but then I discovered it was very sweet and fresh. I did not find any dupe but if I had to approach it to a fragrance it is certainly similar for some of its notes to fresh feminine scents like Acqua di Giò Giorgio Armani."
(I have read other reviews saying light blue Chalou is similar to Davidoff's Cool Water For Women.)
    32636216-k9Xin.jpgChalou Gold: parfumo.net/Per…old
    "Compliment Getter
-Yes, that's true. It's the second time people ask me what my perfume is while I'm wearing Chalou Gold by Lidl, which is pretty much a dupe after Dior's Jadore, and a successful one at that.

I am slightly upset and a bit offended since actually I don't get compliments with many other perfumes however expensive they may be... but the truth is yes here; apparently Chalou smells *good* on me.
    Recommended!"

A comment on Fragrantica about Chalou Gold: fragrantica.com/boa…703 "Oh, the joy! It really is very very close! I own the original and they do smell very much alike. Maybe the original Dior is a bit more ethereal. But smelling it "casually", on cloth or as the beautiful scented vapour rises towards your nose while you're busy doing other things? It is precious."

One reviewer compares Chalou Gold to Lancôme's Trésor but most comment on its similarity to J'Adore.

Does Lidl UK stock Chalou? I've never seen these in our stores, but I'll dig around. Some cheeky beggar on Amazon UK is selling two for £39.99

Suddenly Woman I is a Chanel No5 dupe (though I HATE No5), Suddenly Diamonds is Boss Orange-esque, but you probably know that already Everybody knows Suddenly Madame Glamour by now (I wore it so much I got sick of it!).

Edit: Here's a more generalised thread about J'Adore-a-likes: fragrantica.com/boa…180 (edited)

They don't even get all of the foody special offers!!My point being, don't think the size of the store matters - maybe - perhaps you're just unlucky that they're not aware yet.

Fist store I tried didn't stock it, tried another store that's actually closer to me and picked up a couple for work... smells very similar, like xbolt I don't think the smell will last long but absolutely ideal for work.. thanks again OP

Hi squeakybot, apparently Lidl had another Dior J'Adore alternative in stores very recently called Aura De Esplendor (a new range called Aura by Suddenly - 100ml EDP at £4.99, not the usual £3.99) hotukdeals.com/com…760

Think No1 is going to be a regular in stores, from what I can see it seems to come boxed alongside X-Bolt on shelves (mixed bottles). I have a few of the Aura by Suddenly (and one Essence - for men) bottles which are/were in stores last Thursday, not sure if there will be much left

I'd say so, if you like Boss Bottled, I buy cheaper copies to put in my handbag - that way I don't get too upset if I lose it on a night out

Normally I take pictures in store but my phone's been dead for weeks (waiting for Gearbest/their suppliers to pull their finger out)

Edit: Oopsie, seems I've spelt it wrong - it's Gibellini, not G Bellini (not that it really matters but it helps when trying to search for reviews). (edited)

This article's an interesting read, referencing Lidl's Madame Glamour and its huge success vs Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. Esteemed perfume houses tell us their scents are superior and worth their up to 15 x higher price - but are they? perfumeshrine.blogspot.co.uk/201…tml (edited)

I was in Jamaica Street earlier - seven or eight bottles left - though the tester bottle that was on display has gone - replaced by a crudely-opened cellopaned box and a half empty bottle in it. Do people nick testers? Nothing surprises me any more.

Edit: I put a spritz on each arm (again) and four hours later, there's still a little lingering scent, not bad (edited)

How did I miss these? Not seen these in mine, though I haven't been in for a week or two.

There's MORE mens' fragrances in Lidl ("Essence by G Bellini") - and womens' (under the name "Aura XXX by Suddenly").

These new releases seem to be 100ml and £4.99, rather than the usual 50ml/£3.99 bottles Suddenly/G Bellini scents usually come in.

(The Sun article is from 30th November thesun.co.uk/fab…ap/ "The perfumes are in selected regions across the UK from today, but are only available for a limited time.")

Essence Dark Blue – An aromatic and dry scent with a floral character.
Essence Unicko – This is an oriental fragrance for men with citrus notes throughout.
    *Similar to Solo Loewe
Essence Aqua Fresh – A light fragrance, inspired by the fresh sea and warm sun.
*Reminiscent of Acqua Di Gio Homme
Essence Victory – A fragrance for sports lovers, with energetic notes and a zesty fruitiness.
    32996992.jpg32996992-Lc32y.jpg
    Here's a glowing review of Unicko: basenotes.net/thr…ni)

Unicko and Aqua Fresh both reviewed here: smell-a-likes.com/bra…idl

Not sure what "Essence By G Bellini" Dark Blue and Victory are supposed to be similar to, but I'll keep looking and update if I do find out !
