Think down the line I'm going to regret not buying this but I have too many 60+ hour RPG's I need to playthrough before I buy anymore

Basically think I'll add this to my retirement games. Which is like 40 years from now

Is this similar to 8, as in gameplay, turn based?

Yeah, it plays similiarly, but with a bit more customisation (7 has a class system, unlike 8). Gameplay is a bit more open-ended and there's less of a narrative focus than in 8.

I like 8 the most but 7 is great. It's a big time sink, however, even moreso than 8.

Would have bought this, if not for the fact that I have faaaaaaaaar too many games to play. And have spent faaaaaaaaar too much money on videogames over the last few weeks.

Those 100-odd hours that it takes to get through the main game can be spent somewhere else. Like on here for example...

    Ta da!!!!! (edited)

Nice find, and cheapest I've seen brand new.

For those who don't mind second-hand, CEX sell it for £15 on the nose.

I only ever played 8 on Ps2 and it's one of my favourite ever games. I'm considering getting a 3ds just for these 2 games.

It's definitely worth giving 7 a try if you loved 8. There's a lot that's different about it, but it still has that DQ humour and charm. I never much liked it when I played it on the PS1 decades ago, as it originally had a really dry localisation. But they've completely redone the English script and the visuals for the 3DS version, and it's much more in line with 8. It's really great.
