About this deal

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Don't think it's a bad price considering it was £42 on amazon before all pre-orders (including mine) were cancelled. Releases December 12th in Europe I believe. Hopefully the port turns out alright.

The annoying thing is that 32GB cards do exist for Switch games. They've just decided to pass the cost and hassle to the consumer while making the game non-future proof.

That they're having to put those warnings along the top of a full retail release is outrageous.

If Nintendo gave us 500GB/1TB of storage people wouldn't mind so much. I didn't have to download a 24GB patch for Zelda, or Odyssey, or in fact any other physical Switch game I own. I didn't have to do an install of the cart data either. I just slot it in, and it works. So why must I with this?*

*It's rhetorical. I know exactly why.

It's only the same as a mandatory install, both the X1 and PS4 have those.

Yeah that was my point - I was being tongue in cheek.

    BE WARNED.

2K are being very secretive about the Switch version. No previews/reviews exist. It's extremely likely this is because it's going to be a very, very rough port. (edited)

I own quite a few that do - Nintendo own titles are far better and they should be applauded for that.

at £30/40 for over 100 Gb extra storage I don’t see it as a massive big deal.
right now I am happy to see the Switch getting 3rd party releases

When you download a game its permanently tied to your account so if something happens to your switch you can redownload as it will remember you have already paid. It seems Nintendo might go down the digital download option vs cartridges in the long run.

You're right - it isn't right. You can own as many as you like, you just couldn't expect to have all >32 downloaded at the same time. Hardly a dealbreaker.

That said, I agree these games should just be on a bigger game card.

no difference from my experience - guess that notice is for people purchasing who are trigger happy in leaving negative feedback
I tend to use their ebay option to build up nectar points

Really? Most games are pop cart in and play it's just lazy 3rd party developers forcing massive updates and day one patches. Having the switch usually be instant play is one of its many advantages over the current generstion of consoles.

There's a difference between day one patches, which I agree are annoying, and what is supposed to be a full retail game that is completely unplayable without an additional 24GB download.

Nintendo are typically very efficient with file sizes. And even if they weren't, they're not likely to charge themselves over the odds for big cartridges.

That's not really how it works. They sell loads at a profit and once nobody's buying the dead stock costs money to hold so they stock dump it and a cheap price. That clears valuable storage and any 'loss' is covered by already generated revenue.

Quite agree, it is one way to force a box cover to look ghastly. The 16 age rating uses about 50 pixels in comparison to the 2000 odd pixels needed to waffle about space required.

It's almost like all the developers saw the sales figures and thought oh crap we havnt got anything out for the Xmas break. I do hope this isn't a rushed mess but I fear it will be. And that in itself will then give the switch a bad rep. Please be good. Heat solid price for a new title

For digital that is fine and makes sense, same as Xbox and Sony but if I own the cartridge but it needs an install (patch/download) can you only do that once from the cart?? what is the point in the cart then, might as well just send a code it would be cheaper for them... I have to change the cart every time but cart is worthless??

Also just noticed that this says it needs 1gb on system, if they all start needed that and not on SD - max you can own is 32 games??? Hmmm... that just isn't right.

Yeah same here. My question is why is this so cheap? Its cheaper than La noire's preorder price and NBA 2k18 was released around £40!

For me it is. You telling me once deleted you will reinstall and mess about to play a game? I have two 5tb drives on my xbox And love the fact I have my whole collect at my fingertips.

I dont mind them taking up room - I’ll buy my SD Cards - no issue - but games needing 1gb on internal.... no not a fan of that.
