About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Hi all. This is a really well specced machine with a blazing fast 8th gen i7 (8129 on passmark), dedicated 940MX Nvidia graphics (not what I would call 'gaming laptop' class by any means, but paired with this CPU should run most games on low settings at 1080p or drop it down to 720p for newer titles). 8GB RAM, a decent 1080p IPS screen and an okay sized SSD.
EDIT: Worth mentioning this has USB C and 2 full size USB 3 ports, plus an ethernet adapter. Plus Backlit keyboard.
To get this price, you have to pay via Currys 'your plan' which is essentially a credit agreement and use the code: YOURPLAN100. You can then pay off 'early' (i.e. after the first month) at no extra cost.
Thought this was a pretty good deal. I know this was available at Dixons Travel for £630 (£30 more) but not everyone can get to Stansted duty free!
As a heads up, Quidco also offering 5% cashback on HP machines atm so potentially bringing this down to around £570 which is a real bargain IMO.
For anyone interested, you can also get the Ryzen-equipped (2500U) for around £670 using this method for any AMD fans which has a 128GB SSD plus 1TB HDD. But I don't think the spec is as good (slightly better graphics, slightly worse CPU), so bizarrely, you are paying a premium for AMD (when will this end!?): currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

This burns me! Seriously, if you comment like that then please also paste a link to a deal which has whatever you think this doesn't for the same price
Sunday rant over, have a great week y'all
Oh lighten up. What idiot reads the first part of his sentence then doesn't read the immediate next word = 'joke' and then buys a graphics card/laptop based on a stranger's post on the internet. Sorry, but if their research consisted of 'I read the first sentence of a random post by this guy Tantrix1 on HUKD and bought this laptop for VR expecting 6000fps' then they only have themselves to blame.
Sorry. I fell asleep after two lines,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
According to the HP website: "Full-size island-style backlit keyboard"
lol no
6000fps is believable? Take a break son.
Think you're better off building a PC for that
No where near good enough. The Geforce 940MX has been used a lot in this generation. The previous 7th gen's used Geforce GTX950M which is slightly better, however you need a GTX1060 or better for VR.
Completely fine. Should give you 6000fps on the most intensive VR games out there.. (Joke) for VR i recommend a GTX 960 or more, even which would be low fps. (edited)
This has dedicated graphics, that doesn't. So this is better specced. But there's nothing else in it. I just got my missus the cheaper version of that Lenovo. It's a well reviewed machine so definitely not a bad choice if you can't find this HP in stock. I got her the i5 version for £470. For me it wasn't worth the extra for a processor that's not hugely faster.
Yes, a friend of mine picked one up today and they knocked the £100 off at the checkout.
This is a good indication that the connector is for a hard drive. Just to be sure, and to check the necessary part numbers, download this: support.hp.com/gb-…als
The HP Pavilion 14 Laptop PC - Maintenance and Service Guide, not the simple user manual.
Hi mate. A number of the screws are under the rubber feet. Once all unscrewed, it's very easy to get off. The installed ram is under the flap, yep. Cheers.
Works a treat, currently installing kubuntu on my second drive.
Not sure if the pavilion range is metal but I have an Envy and it is full aluminium
Think I've read somewhere it's an all metal build.
Link?
Can you take out the credit deal in-store? Cheers!
